I'm looking for some local summer holiday inspiration with the kids and would love your ideas!
Trying to keep things low-cost, so walks, parks, and little adventure spots would be perfect. If you’ve got any favourite places nearby, or hidden gems you think others should know about, please share them in the comments. We’re always happy to support local businesses too, so any cafes, farms, attractions or family-friendly spots you’ve really enjoyed would be amazing to hear about.
I’ll start with a little spotlight on Gonks of Garden Hillock. We visited their Christmas trail and it was something really special. Frankie wasn’t feeling too great that evening, so I’m hoping to take them back over the holidays to explore it during the day and hopefully enjoy it again in a bit of sunshine, with a play in their playpark afterwards.
Can't wait to hear you recommendations 😁

A huge thank you to everyone who came up Scolty last night to celebrate 12 years of Deeside Fitness! 🎉
Rain, hail, skint knees, and a few challenges along the way – last night showed that teamwork really does make the dream work!
I wasn't even sure I was going to make it out of the car park after a meltdown before we had set off (from the 4 year old, not me)! Then we were met with pouring rain and hailstones on the way up. But it was all worth it when we reached the top, the sun came out, the views were amazing, and we celebrated with some fizz, snacks, lots of smiles, and a great catch-up. 🥂☀️
A big shout out to Gracie and Fearn, who both completed their first walk up Scolty last night. Gracie, I'm not sure Fearn would have made it without your helping hand and encouragement along the way, such a good friend. ❤️
Thanks also to "PT" Frankie for getting some of the walkers running, and a big thank you to everyone who kept an eye on him when he was well out of my sight! 😆
Thank you Chloe for the cool Birthday badge 😊🎉
I would also like to thank everyone who has been part of the Deeside Fitness journey over the last 12 years. So many friendships have been made along the way, and I feel incredibly privileged to have helped and supported so many clients and class attendees to achieve their goals and become fitter and stronger, both physically and mentally.
I never take for granted how lucky I am to be doing a job I love, and without your support, none of this would be possible.
Seeing everyone supporting one another last night perfectly sums up what Deeside Fitness is all about. Thank you all for being part of this amazing community and for helping us celebrate 12 years together.
Here's to many more years of fitness, friendship, and adventures! 💪❤️

Huge well done and thank you to my amazing Mum & Baby class who took part in my Friends of ANCHOR fundraiser yesterday.
We had a fab class followed by fine pieces, and with the weather being so lovely, we swapped the coffees for fizz. It was so nice to have time for a proper chat, catch up, and enjoy the sunshine together.
One of the reasons I chose this charity is because two of my mums, Kelly and Katie, who used to come along to class with their little ones, have both gone through incredibly challenging cancer diagnoses and treatments during pregnancy and postpartum. These two incredible and inspiring mums also took part in Courage on the Catwalk a few weeks ago, and I really wanted to show them our support.
It was also lovely that Katie and her daughter Fern were able to join us yesterday. Katie shared a little more information about this amazing charity and how they support patients across the North East. She also helped raise awareness about bowel and re**al cancer, including some of the signs and symptoms not to ignore, and the importance of catching it early.
I’ve heard first hand how much help and support Friends of ANCHOR gave both of them during such a difficult time, which made fundraising for this amazing charity feel even more important.
An extra shout it goes to Jen and Sandra my mother in law who helped make some very yummy bakes. They went down a treat! Also thanks to Katie for coming along and inspiring us all.
All proceeds from the class and donations have been counted and we raised £205 and counting!!
Thank you all so much for your support, generosity, and for making it such a lovely afternoon.

Exercise doesn’t have to be perfect to count.
Today my running partner was my four-year-old on her bike 🚲
We stopped approximately a million times, I had to pretend to be Mr Tod chasing Peter Rabbit (on her bike😅), and there was a lot of chatting along the way.
To some people, this probably wouldn’t look like a “proper workout.” But honestly? I still moved my body, got fresh air, and accidentally did some kind of chaotic fartlek training between all the stopping and sprinting 😂
More importantly, we got uninterrupted time together, Fearn had fun, and she’s learning that exercise isn’t a punishment or a chore, it’s just a normal, enjoyable part of life. Kids copy what we do far more than what we say.
Not every workout needs to be intense, tracked, programmed or planned. Sometimes movement looks like laughter, imagination, fresh air, and little legs pedalling beside you. And that still counts ❤️

On Tuesday 26th May, I’ll be hosting a fundraiser for Friends of Anchor after my Mum & Baby class 💕
Class will run from 11am–12pm, with the fundraiser afterwards. You’re welcome to come along to the class and stay on after, or just join us for a cuppa, cake, chat and hopefully a walk if the weather is nice ☕🍰🌿
Everyone is welcome — you don’t need to have a baby to come along.
The reason I have chosen Friends of Anchor is because two incredible mums who have attended my classes are taking part in Courage on the Catwalk.
Motherhood on its own comes with so many challenges, emotions and hard days But the unimaginable challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment whilst pregnanat/caring for a baby and raising a young families is truely inspiring.
You can read a bit more about Kelly and Katie's courage's story in their just giving pages below.
All proceeds from the class will be going directly to Friends of Anchor, and any extra donations on the day will be hugely appreciated 💗Every penny raised will make a real difference to someone who is going through the hardest challenges.
I’d love for this to be a lovely morning bringing people together, supporting an amazing cause, and celebrating two very special women.

At our Mum and Baby class, the benefits go beyond physical exercise. Our mums build connections and form new friendships in a supportive, welcoming environment.
The social side of our class is really important to us, there’s always time for a chat, and it’s common for mums to head off for a coffee or a walk together after class.
Come and join us Tuesday 11-12pm. Banchory. Outside in the park, or indoors in the Scout Hut if the weather is bad.
Affordable classes to allow everyone to join in. Block booking (£6 per class) or drop in classes available (£7.50 a class).
PM me if you would like more.
