What a fantastic time we had last weekend helping to marshal at the Explorr event! 🙌🏃♀️🚴♂️
Explorr which has grown from Run Banchory, a fabulous local event that we’ve loved being part of over the years, whether competing or volunteering. It’s amazing to see an event that gives so many people the opportunity to get involved, with distances and challenges for everyone, from walking, cycling and 5Ks right through to the marathon! Well done to and all the Explorr team for creating this event to Banchory.
The very first Run Banchory, seven years ago, I took part while pregnant with my son. It felt incredibly special to come full circle this weekend and watch Frankie competing and having so much fun in the kids’ race. ❤️
But one of the most special moments for me was watching my very good friend Lynne complete her first marathon! Lynne is one of those friends where, instead of meeting for coffee, we head out for a run, a bike ride or a camping adventure. She’s always happy to go at my kids’ pace too, snack stops, running while pushing a bike or carrying a bike, and all the other adventures that come with kids! 😂
So, watching her test her limits, achieve such an incredible goal, and experience the joy and buzz of crossing that finish line was truly special. And to make it even more emotional, my daughter Fearn was there to give her her marathon medal🏅
We are very proud of you Lynne ❤
We’re so lucky to have so many brilliant local events that bring people together and encourage everyone to get involved. Whether you compete, volunteer, marshal or simply cheer from the sidelines, I’d highly recommend getting involved!
With so many local events coming up (check out the list below) there really is something for everyone.
Get involved, challenge yourself, support others, support local charities and enjoy being part of our amazing local community!

I know some mums can feel a little anxious or worried about coming along to Mum and Baby Fitness for the first time, especially when they’re unsure how their baby will be during the class.
I completely understand this! Babies aren’t predictable, and no two babies are the same. That’s exactly why I make my classes relaxed, flexible and welcoming, creating a safe and friendly environment to support you on your postnatal fitness journey. ❤️
Some days your baby might need cuddles for the whole class. They might need rocked to sleep in the buggy while you do your squats! They might need a feed or a nappy change—and that’s all totally fine and completely normal in my class.
Some weeks, you might even get a full workout completed if baby sleeps! 😄 I adapt the class to how both you and your baby are feeling, so there’s absolutely no pressure.
I still love this photo I captured a few years ago. 🥰 A special moment when this wee toot (who is now a big 2 year old!) enjoyed some lovely bonding time with her mum, sharing snuggles in the sunshine. ☀️❤️
Cuddles are most definitely allowed in my classes ❤️ and can even be the perfect opportunity to focus on your breathing and pelvic floor.
If you’re interested in finding out more about my Mum and Baby Fitness classes, please get in touch. I would love to support you on your postnatal journey. ❤️

I've been reminding myself lately that the summer holidays isn't the time to strive for perfection... its the time to celebrate the small wins.
Juggling work, kids, playdates and everything else can be tricky. For us, it's been even busier with all the extra work around the Banchory Show, plus its harvest time on the farm. It's easy to beat ourselves up or think, "I should be doing more." But instead, I'm choosing to focus on what I am managing.
A quick 30-minute workout once the kids are in bed? That's a win.
A hill walk or bike ride with the kids That's a win too.
Because movement is essential, but it doesn't have to look a certain way. The best kind of movement is the kind you enjoy and can fit into your life.
This weekend was a lovely reminder of that. My 6-year-old chose to come to parkrun with me instead of helping his dad, something he absolutely loves doing. It was his decision, and that made it even more special.
He got off to a great start, I did not 🤣 so I spent most of the run trying to catch up with him 🤣. Although not before he managed a sprint finish up the hill to the castle! 😂🏃♂️ and we couldn't catch him!
Am I chasing PBs this summer? Probably not.
But I am showing my children that exercise is fun, that movement is something to enjoy, and that being active is just part of life.
And to me... that's the biggest win of all. ❤️
So if your workouts don't look like they normally do, give yourself some grace. Every walk, every bike ride, every game in the garden, every 20 or 30-minute workout still counts.
Keep moving, keep making memories, and celebrate the small wins. ✨
I'd love to hear how you are keeping fit and active this summer?
And if you are chasing that big goal or PB I'm here cheering you on!!
