Llanfinhangel Glyn Myfyr-Rhyd Galed-Dinmael- Llangwm- Llanfinhangel Glyn Myfyr.
Mileage 15.3 miles Altitude Gain 1750 feet
Park the car in a lay-by by the bridge in the middle of the village by the Crown Inn.
Turn right on to the B 5105 and then immediately turn left and immediately left again.Follow the road until you reach Rhyd Galed and then a few hundred yards bear right. Walk about half a mile and you will reach a crossroads and here turn right passing Brithdir.
Follow this road for about 2 miles all the way down to Dinmael and carefully cross the A5 and take the road directly opposite.
In about 100 yds the road bears right after crossing a little bridge.just follow this road for 3 miles until you reach a t junction. Here turn left and follow the road to the little village of Llangwm. Here I visited the old church of St Jerome’s. After stopping here for a rest I retraced my steps to the t junction and carried straight on till I reached another t junction and here turned left.
Continue on this road till you reach the A5 again and here cross very carefully and take the road directly opposite.
Walk along this road which is mostly uphill. When reaching a junction at the top bear right and then follow this road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the B5105 again and turn right onto the road and back to the car.

Greenfield Heritage Park(Holywell)- Pantasaph-Gorsedd- Whitford- Holywell.
Distance 13.3 miles Altitude Gain 1410 feet
Park the car at the Greenfield Heritage Car park off the A548.
Start the walk following the North Wales Pilgrims Way from Basingwerk Abbey. When the path meets St Winifrede’s Chapel cross over the main road and then follow the path till it meets the A5026. Cross over the main road and take the pilgrims way which is marked at Brynfynnon Terrace.
Follow the Pilgrims way markers now all the way up to Pen y Ball and passed the disused quarries. You will eventually come through a gate which will bring you into the churchyard of the church at the Pantasaph Friary. I took time here to visit the stations of the cross which was well worth it.
Leave the friary turning right on to the main road. At the junction leave the Pilgrims Way and turn right and walk into Gorsedd. In the village there is the church and some standing stones and other interesting points. At the crossroads go straight over until you reach the main A5026 again and cross carefully over taking the road opposite. You will pass a medieval farm Waen on the left and shortly after reach a junction and here turn left and follow the road to Whitford.
At Whitford visit the church St Beuno’s and St Mary’s. Leave the church and take the lane opposite which is signposted footpath.
Follow this path past Downing Hall which is now demolished. Eventually you meet a road and here turn right and then immediately left. Climb the hill for a few yards and then take the footpath on the right following for about a mile. You will go onto the golf course and then eventually after climbing a very bad gate get back on to the road. Turn left onto the road then immediately right and then take the first left and then turn onto a footpath marked Ffynnon Oswallt. Follow this footpath then which will bring you eventually back onto the Pilgrims Way. Follow down to Winifrede’s chapel and St Peter’s church and then return to the car the way we started out.

Rhewl- Llanynys- Llanychan-Hirwaen- Ruthin- Rhewl
Distance 13.96 miles Altitude Gain 800 feet.
Park the car in Rhewl in a little lay-by by the playing field.
Leave the village taking the road in the direction of Llanynys. Walk 1.85 miles until you reach the church at Llanynys. This church has a wonderful history and is usually open and has many very interesting finds inside. A place you could spend ages looking round.
Leave the church and turn right from the gate and then bear right at the fork in the road.Follow the road for about 0.9 miles till you meet the B5429 and turn right and then walk 1.1 miles until you reach the small hamlet of Llanhycan and here you will find another very old parish church of St Hychan.
After leaving the church continue on the B5429 for just over a mile and then bear left and follow the road for 0.8 miles and then at the junction turn right and walk a short distance to Hirwaen and here turn right and continue to meet the B5429 and turn left and then in less than a hundred yards take the track on the right hand side of the road.
Walk on the track which meets a road for 1.1 miles. At the end of the road you will meet the A494. Here you will cross over the road being careful as it’s a busy main road.
You will now be walking along the B5429 again and walk along here for 0.7 miles and turn left. Stop off to visit the old church St Meugan’s.
Leaving the church continue down the road till you reach Ruthin.
Turn left into Ruthin and then walk through the town down past Ruthin Gaol and then join the main road A525 to Denbigh. Walk from the junction for 1.6 miles along the A525 and then leave the main road to the right and walk along this road for 0.8 miles till you reach the t junction. Turn left and walk a few hundred yards back to the car.

Prestatyn- Gronant-Llanasa-Axton-Gwaenysgor-Prestatyn
Distance 10.34 miles. Altitude Gain 1315 feet.
Park the car by the library in Prestatyn in the free car park.
Walk from the car park through the church and join the High St Prestatyn. Walk up the High St and before the traffic lights turn left into Clwyd St and then turn almost immediately right onto Plas Ave and then take the footpath on the right and follow to meet Gronant Rd.
Turn left on to Gronant Rd and follow for about 0.4 miles passing the duck pond on the left and here cross over and continue to follow Gronant Rd all the way to Gronant (about 1.1 miles) where it turns into Llanasa Rd and then walk along for another 1.4 miles and take a right turn at the crossroads and continue to the village of Llanasa and it’s beautiful old church.
After leaving the church bear left out of the gate and follow the road keeping left until you reach a crossroads and here turn right and then at Axton turn right again following the road for about a mile.At the t junction turn left and then right at the next crossroads.
On reaching the next t junction turn left and continue to the next crossroads turn right and walk up the hill to Gwaenysgor.
Spending some time at the beautiful old church here I continued through the village on Penrallt Rd to reach Hill side after taking in the most spectacular views from the view point at the top.
Eventually after winding down the very steep hill you will reach Fforddlas.
Continue down to the traffic lights cross over the main road and continue back down the High St to the car park.The last half mile is part of the start of Offa’s D**e.

Craig y Don-Great Orme-Happy Valley-Craig y Don
Distance 12.83 miles Altitude Gain 2197 feet
Park the car on Rivière Avenue Craig y Don. Walk to the main road Queens Rd and then turn left and walk straight over Mostyn Ave towards the promenade. Turn left onto the promenade and walk all the way to the end and bear right and walking past the Grand Hotel and the top of the pier onto the road that takes you around the Great Orme the road is called Marine Drive.
After 1.3 miles take the road left and climb up the bends till you reach the cemetery of St Tudno’s church. Take a look around here and check out on the app history points the graves of some notable people. After spending some time here leave the churchyard at the top gate and take the footpath across the way signposted Ski Centre and Llandudno. Follow the footpath which eventually brings you out on the road up to the summit. Turn right and then follow up to the Summit.
Bear left down the footpath and then at the bottom of the slope bear right and walk along the side of the wall with fabulous views of Anglesey and Puffin Island. At the end of the wall bear right and then take the path that brings you back to a concrete road which then leads onto Marine Drive again.
Turn left on to Marine Drive and walk for about 1.6 miles and then turn left on to the footpath that takes you back to Llandudno past through Haulfre Gardens.
Reaching the end continue straight on and in 100 yards reach a junction of a road and turn right and then in another few hundred yards turn left and walk up the hill to Happy Valley Gardens and then join Marine Drive by the Grand Hotel.
Walk back along Mostyn Street all the way back to Craig y Don and at the junction turn right into Queens Rd and then take the second on the right which is Rivière Ave and return to the parked car.

Llandudno Junction-Conwy-Gyffin-Henryd-Sychnant-Conwy-Llandudno Junction
Distance 11 miles Altitude Gain 1208 feet
Park the car on Conway Rd near North Wales Audi garage.
Walk along Conway Rd and cross safely over the roundabout junction to the Conwy bridge.
Walk along the bridge and cross over to the old National Trust suspension bridge and then continue up the A547 turning left towards Gyffin at the pub (The Bank). Continue up the road and then follow the road bearing left as far as the junction at Gyffin. Before reaching the main road B5106 bear right passing St Benedict’s church on the right.
Follow this road all the way to Henryd. At Henryd turn right and then follow this road for about 1.1 miles without making any turn offs. After 1.1 miles at the t junction turn right and walk along this road for 0.5 miles and then take a left and follow this road until you reach the Sychnant Pass Rd.
Turn on to the Sychnant Pass rd and start walking towards Conwy. In about 0.5 miles turn right into a no through road which led into a bridal path.At the end of the path turn left on to the road and walk back into Conwy taking the route back through the park and along the quayside and back over the bridge to the car.

Rhyd-y-foel-Dolwen-Bryn-y-Maen-Colwyn Bay
Distance 12.44 miles. Altitude Gain 1659 feet
Leave Rhyd y foel in the direction of Dolwen and in 2 miles you will reach the crossroads and here turn right on to the B5381. Walk 0.5 miles crossing over the narrow bridge and at the junction continue straight on and in a few hundred yards after the mill on the left make a left turn.
In 0.6 miles turn right and follow this road and keep following the road till you reach the top of the hill. Here ignore the left turn down to Dawn and continue on the road following it up the steep hill which comes out at the top by the woods at Coed Brydans. Eventually after following the road from the right turn for 2.2 miles bear right at the junction and then immediately left.
Follow this road for 0.5 miles until you reach the B5381 turn left and then immediately bear left off the main road and walk 0.5 miles to the crossroads with the B5113 and cross straight over and walk 0.7 miles turning right at Pen yr Orsedd farm and walk 0.7 miles till you reach the B5381 again. Turn left and walk for 0.8 miles and turn right and continue for 1.5 miles till you reach the B5113 and turn left and walk into Bryn y Maen.
Walk from turning onto the B5113 for 0.5 miles passing the church known as the Cathedral in the hills on the right and then take the right turn onto Nant y Glyn Rd. Follow the road for 1.8 miles to the end of the road. Turn right on to the Old Highway and down to Eirias Park.
At this stage I had a lift home with my husband. Other options would be Number 12 or 13 bus and alight at the bottom of Rhyd y foel rd and walk back up (1.1 miles) or walk back through park and along coastal path home (4.5 miles ) the latter making the walk 17 miles.

Rhyd y foel- Moelfre- Llannefydd- Betws yn Rhos- Rhyd y foel
17.3 miles Altitude Gain 2345 feet
Leave Rhyd y foel walking towards Dolwen. After 0.9 miles take a left passing Bryn Ffanigol farm and caravan park. At the end of the road at the junction turn right and then immediately left. Then follow this road to the end where it meets the B5381. Turn left onto the road and then at the crossroads turn right on to the A548. Walk very carefully a few hundred yards and then bear left onto the minor road.
Walk up the hill and in about 0.4 miles you reach a junction turn left and walk for about 0.7 miles and take the right opposite the house Pwll-y-cybau bach. Follow this road for a mile taking the third road on the right and then follow the road for three miles not taking any turns off. The road takes you all around Mynydd y Gaer.
In three miles you will reach a t junction and here turn right and follow the road to reach the village of Llannefydd. Visit the church and then retrace your steps and take the road out of the village towards Plas Uchaf Reservoir.Distance to the reservoir is about 1.2 miles.
After the reservoir continue up the hill and follow the road to Pont y Gwyddel which is approximately a mile. Cross over the bridge and then bear right up the hill and then follow the road past Bryn Eglwys and shortly you will come to a road bearing right.( distance from bridge to turn is 0.4 miles)Take this road and in 1.3 miles you will reach the main A548. Cross over at the crossroads carefully and take the first turning left. Follow the road to the main B5381 and turn left.
Walk along the main road for 0.6 miles and then turn right and follow this road until you get to a junction and then turn left back onto the road we started on. Walk to the bottom turn right and immediately left and then back to Rhyd y foel.

Old Colwyn- Rhos on Sea – Penrhyn Bay – Glanwydden- Mochdre- Old Colwyn
Distance 13.35 miles Altitude Gain 1278 feet
Park the car near Eirias Park and then follow the path through the park down towards the promenade. Reaching the bridge go under and turn left on to the promenade opposite Porth Eirias.
Walk along the promenade going through Rhos on Sea towards Penrhyn Bay.
In 3.1 miles take a right signposted coastal path. Follow the road until it meets the estate road approx 100 yards. Turn right and walk to the end and go up the steps and turn right. Walk to Angel Bay to see the seals and then return on the same path but carry on past the steps to the gate.
At the gate turn left and then immediately right and walk to the roundabout at Penrhyn Bay. Cross over the first zebra crossing then going right take then the next crossing and just after the front entrance to Boots turn left and then walk along the cycle/footpath which is on the left.
At the end of the footpath turn right and walk a hundred yards to the main road and bear right and then in another hundred yards cross over the main road carefully and take the road to Glandwydden. Reaching the crossroads by the Queens Head on the right turn left. Then follow the road for 1.5 miles passing the beautiful old church of St Cystennin’s. Take a left and walk down to the main road at Mochdre the A547.
Turn left and then in about 0.2 miles turn left in to Glan y Wern Rd.
At this point several options. Walk through the cemetery to join Dinerth Rd or take the footpath at the back of the cemetery to reach Dinerth Rd.
Follow Dinerth Rd to the end and at the junction bear righten to the B5115 passing St Trillo’s Church on the left and then turn left down Church Rd.
Here again many ways to walk back to Rhos on Sea so this is optional. At Rhos on Sea turn right onto the promenade and then walk back to Porth Eirias and the turn right back through the park to the parked car.

Rhyd-y-foel-Abergele-Llanddulas-Rhyd- y-foel
Distance 9.58 miles Altitude Gain 869 feet
Leave Rhyd-y-foel in direction of Betws yn Rhos and after 0.8 miles take a left walking past farm and caravan park Bryn Ffanigal Ganol and at the junction in a further 0.8 miles take a left and then walk for about 1.5 miles.
Then at the crossroads carry straight on through the little hamlet of Foxhole and then just before the main road bear left and then in a few hundred yards take the footpath on the right which can be followed on many routes to Abergele. We took the route to connect with Llanfair Rd and walked into Abergele.
Then take Sea Rd just after Tesco and walk down to the sea front and then walk on the cycle- footpath along to Llanddulas. At the Old Lifeboat House turn left up Station Rd and then left into Beach Rd and then walk to meet the main road. Cross over to Beulah Ave and then turn left up New Rd and return to Rhyd y foel.

Rhyd-y-foel-Trofarth-Gell-Betws-yn-Rhos-Rhyd-y-foel
Distance 16.0 miles Altitude Gain 2236 feet
Leave Rhyd y foel and walk two miles towards the Dolwen crossroads.At the crossroads cross over and follow the road towards Dawn.
After 1.1 miles take a left turn up the hill and follow the road for two miles and then bear right and then in 0.5 miles bear left past an old chapel and follow the road up a steep hill taking the first turning on the right Follow this road now for 1.2 miles and at the t junction turn right and in half a mile turn right and follow the road through Gell until you reach a junction by a small lake and bear right. Shortly in a few hundred yards you will bear right up the road by the old chapel again This time follow the road right up to the crossroads and take a left at the crossroads.
Follow this road for about 0.6 miles and then bear right and follow the road all the way to Betws yn Rhos which is nearly 4 miles.
Reaching the village turn left at the main road onto the B5381 and walk through the village and at the fork in the road by the old chapel( now converted into a house ) bear right there off the B road
Walk then for 0.5 miles to the junction and turn right and walk back to Rhyd y foel

Colwyn Bay- Bryn y Maen - Llanelian- Colwyn Bay.
Distance 10.48 miles. Altitude Gain 1423 feet
Park the car on Elian Rd opposite Eirias Park.
Walk on the main road in direction of Colwyn Bay for a few hundred yards and then bear left down the Old Highway. Pass Nant y Groes (little nature reserve) and then bear left up Nant y Glyn Rd.
Walk along Nant y Glyn Rd and follow for 1.8 miles until you reach the B5113 Llanrwst Rd at Bryn y Maen. At the junction turn left passing the Cathedral in the Hills.
Walk on for about 0.5 miles and then take 2nd right which is the B5381 and continue for just less than a mile and then bear left continue until you reach the next t junction and bear left.
Walk for 0.5 miles until you reach the B5113 road again and then cross straight over and continue to the B5381 and walk along this road for 0.7 miles and then take a left following the road to Llanelian.
On reaching Llanelian visit the old church of St Elian. Then leave Llanelian on Groes Rd and follow this road all the way back to the main road A547 and return to the car.
