After overcoming Cullen 3-1 on Tuesday we welcomed them back to the Astro with both sides looking to book their place in the semi final. The Villa got their noses in front early, Marcus Murray converting from the penalty spot making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Cullen came close to equalising rattling the inside of the post in the 11th. Kris Duncan set up Jay Morrison in the 15th minute to make it 2-0. The Villa would continue to press and create chances and would get a 3rd, Korey Pring placed a perfect pass for Mikey Simpson to chase and set up Kris Duncan who scored making it 3-0 in the 39th minute.

The Villa started the second half in control, Korey Pring firing just wide in the 49th minute. Marcus Murray let off a powerful effort from 25 yards out, the ball swerved and dipped and ended up in the back of the net making it 4-0 in the 52nd minute. Cullen would get one back Jae Marandola scoring at the back post after a long ball caught out the Villa defence, 4-1 in 61st minute. Marcus Murray completed his hatrick in the 62nd minute cleaning up after Jay Morrison initial effort was saved 5-1. Marcus Murray thought he had a 4th just as quick but his shot was well over from a central position. Jay Morrison danced between the Cullen defenders and set up Kris Duncan for his second making the score 6-1 in be 79th minute. The game would end with another Villa goal Jay Morrison getting his second in the 90th minute seeing a dominant Villa performance end 7-1!

Unbelievable effort from the squad last night with numbers stretched to the max. Stevie Reid rolling back the years in the sticks along with Reece Cooper and Steven Chalmers coming in and playing very well. We’ll nae mention Reece’s effort that landed in Mary Avenue. Also great to see Gary Morrison taking a night off the tools to make his first appearance this season. Thanks also to Blair McDonald and Baker for stepping in and helping out with the coaching👏🏻

Superb support from the Villa faithful once again let’s keep this up as we head into the business end of the season💜
