WEEKEND FUN REPORT 💦

SATURDAY
A lovely start to the day, fairly bright and sunny from the get-go.

The south-westerly wind could be pretty strong at times, so expect a bit of chop in the bay.

The upside? It should bring an increase in swell. Porth Neigwl / Hell’s Mouth will be worth a look for a surf once the morning high tide has dropped back,
mid-morning onwards looks like the best bet.

SUNDAY
The wind steps up again, coming from the south to south-east, so the bay is going to be pretty lumpy.

It should stay mostly dry, just with a bit more cloud around than Saturday, and we should see another increase in the surf.

And seeing as we’re officially entering windy season… winging is firmly back on the agenda! We’re still running lessons, so give us a shout if you fancy giving it a go.

HIGH TIDES
Saturday: 8:39am / 8:48pm
Sunday: 9:11am / 9:22pm

And while we’re talking changing seasons, the O’Neill winter deliveries are currently being unpacked. New boots, gloves and plenty of neoprene for the ‘ber… or should that be brrrrrr… months ahead. 🥶

I nearly talked myself out of this one…

After work last night, the drizzle-mizzle stopped, Abersoch Harbour looked relatively calm and I’d already planted the seed of a quick paddle.

Then came my approximately 946 reasons not to bother.

But I went….Just me, my board and 30 minutes actually noticing all the little things I usually whizz straight past.

And the universe even sent me a boat called OPPORTUNITY just to really hammer the point home 😂

Yes universe, I heard you.

Best of all… I got out of making dinner.

Every cloud. ✌️

Sorry we were shut this afternoon… we had something slightly more important to deal with. 😬

A 10th birthday party…..done in classic Abersoch Watersports style ✌️

A giant slip ’n’ slide down the dunes towards the sea. Much more our style than balloons and party games. 😂

Huge shout out to Captain Woods who absolutely pulled this one out of the bag and made it happen and judging by the carnage, we think they all had fun.

And Fritz, you rock as always. 🙌

And don’t worry, everything was cleared away afterwards and the beach was left exactly as we found it, Thanks All

Self-rescue, getting back on the board… they’re taking notes.

Give it a few years and they’ll probably be telling him he’s doing it wrong 😂

We’ve finally processed what actually happened… 😂

SUMMER 2026……6 weeks of happy, exhausting Abersoch carnage.

Boards, wetsuits, lessons, logistics, children, weather curveballs, lifeboat call-outs, shop madness and a LOT of SunBum.

A massive thank you to our instructors, our shop team and everyone who booked, bought, paddled, surfed, winged, chatted and generally joined in the madness with us.

Same again next year then? 😬✌️

WEEKEND FUN REPORT 💦

It’s looking like a weekend of two halves…

SATURDAY: A bit stormy! The day should start dry and breezy, but those winds will build through the morning with some heavy showers possible around lunchtime.

Hopefully they’ll blow through quickly, leaving us with a much drier finish and the winds easing later in the day.

If you’re looking for a surf, Porth Oer / Whistling Sands could be worth checking out, a bit more sheltered from those winds.

SUNDAY: A much better prospect! Lighter winds and some sunshine from the get-go, with calmer seas in the bay and a much nicer day all round.

There should be plenty of surf around too, picking up from mid-morning onwards after the high tide.

HIGH TIDES:
Saturday: 9:27am / 9:39pm
Sunday: 10:06am / 10:19pm

Our Saturday lessons and activities have taken a bit of a weather hit, so fingers crossed we can get everyone rebooked and back on the water on Sunday 🤞

And on that note… it’s definitely getting to that time of year. The Dryrobes are out, come and have a nose 👀

In the whirlwind of summer, we forgot to mention this one… we’re someone’s muse. 😂🎨

Yep, still blows my brain slightly that someone likes our photos enough to turn them into actual artwork.

The lovely asked if she could portray one of our shots, and of course we said yes.

So here it is….the original photo of Mrs AW & Hattie out on a morning paddleboard ➡️ swipe to see it transformed into a painting and hanging in the summer exhibition at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw , open until 4th October.

We love championing local creatives and artists, so a big GOOD LUCK to Emily with her new studio Menter Rabar opening this autumn✌️

And bonus points if you can tell us where the original photo was taken… 👀

No one really warns you about…….the September switch or you forget every year 😂

One minute it’s 100mph and your shoulders have been somewhere up around your ears since July…..Then suddenly, they drop slightly and you stop holding your breath 🙃

The coffee chats gets chattier, There’s a bit more dawdling before opening, there’s fewer paddleboard logistics to work out, fewer sandy wetsuits to wash and slightly fewer activity timetables to juggle. You can actually finish a sentence without the phone ringing.

And all those jobs we’ve been saying we’ll get done when it gets quieter…Apparently now’s the time.

Bad news for Captain Woods, Mrs AW has a list. 😬
