Aberystwyth to Fairbourne via Aberdyfi & Tywyn. Fourteen stops, three bags filled & two fly tipping sites reported. Cans, plastic, glass, a car battery, a George Forman grill (again), multiple s*x toys and various other things that should not be in the hedges on the side of the road but anyway we keep moving!!
Just as I approached Llwyngwril, I met a gentlemen called James. We got chatting & I couldn’t believe that at 85 years old he was still cycling 50 miles a day. He thanked me for what I was doing and told me to never to stop moving forward & never stop chasing the things that matter to me. I’ll cherish that moment we shared today. Iechyd da, James!
A solid haul but there’s always more to be done. We live in such a beautiful part of the world. I just want to keep it that way.

The 5am starts have been worth it! Getting up close and personal with these amazing animals over the weekend was always going to be rewarding.
Some of the biggest compass jellyfish I’ve ever seen and some of the smallest!! Even if it meant getting stung in the process…..
The visibility over the weekend was hands down some of the best we’ve had in a long time. I hope you all enjoyed the weather as much as I did! 🪼

Just a brief reintroduction incase you’re new here!
I’m Jack, the owner of Aberoutdoors-a water-sports outlet dedicated to educating the community on water safety and environmental conservation.
As a Qualified SUP Instructor, I empower individuals with the skills and knowledge to enjoy the water safely. Beyond my professional role, I serve as an RNLI crew volunteer, dedicated to maritime rescue.
I am also a activist, advocating for the protection of our oceans and coastal ecosystems. Aberoutdoors is also a proud member of the Ocean Network.
As a proud partner, I also lead regular local clean-up efforts from my recently established hub. I aim to keep wales tidy now and for the future by working with my community.
My vision is simple: to foster a culture where everyone feels connected to nature and understands its fragility. I hope to inspire others to take action towards keeping it clean and thriving.
By combining education, action, and advocacy, I aim to leave a legacy of cleaner waters, safer shores, and a more sustainable relationship with the ocean for the future generations to come.

A Grand Week in Wales is a national fundraising movement built around the idea of 1,000. Inspired by the 1,000-mile circumference of Wales, participants take on creative challenges that bring people together, support important causes, and celebrate Welsh community spirit which is what we’re all about!
Join our Grand Welsh Litter Pick along the Afon Ystwyth Trial starting from Tan Y Bwlch carpark as far as Allt Wen.
I would love to get as many people involved in this. It’s a long, wide space and is in need of some love and attention. More hands make light work. We’ll be meeting at midday in the carpark.

Message me if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there! ♻️

1am this morning on my way home from work. An uncollected bin? A bin left out late? Who knows but a bin all the same and its contents? Absolutely everywhere. This is what I am fighting so hard against. I want this to stop happening - wouldn’t you agree?
Bins, birds & wind are problematic mix.
There has to be a solution and perhaps it’s staring us right in the face.
