Finally we say goodbye to Nell Boxall,

It’s hard to find words that sufficiently pay tribute to club captain Nell as she brings an outstanding playing career with Abingdon United to a close.

From the very beginning, Nell has led by example. With well over 100 appearances for the club, she has been at the heart of multiple promotions, memorable victories and some of the most successful moments in our history.

Her commitment, leadership and quality have been instrumental in helping build the club into what it is today, and it is impossible to overstate the impact she has had both on and off the pitch.

As Nell retires from the game, we would like to thank her for everything she has given to Abingdon United. Her contribution will leave a lasting legacy, and she will always be part of the club’s story.

Our penultimate farewell goes to Lauren May

After an incredible journey that began in 2018, Lauren departs Abingdon United with the thanks and admiration of everyone connected to the club.

Making well over 100 appearances, Lauren has been the definition of commitment, professionalism and versatility throughout her time with us. Her quality on the pitch, leadership within the squad and unwavering dedication to the club have made her an integral part of our journey over the years.

More than just a fantastic player, Lauren has been a wonderful person to have around the club and leaves with a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Thank you, Lauren, for everything. We wish you every success and happiness in the future💛💙

Our next farewell is Amy Chivers

We would like to thank Amy as she departs Abingdon United following her return to the club last season.

Despite returning for just over half a season, Amy’s impact was felt immediately. Her leadership, experience and quality on the pitch played a significant role in helping the squad achieve what it did this year, while her character and professionalism made her a valued member of the group.

Amy has been a pleasure to work with, and we are grateful for everything she has contributed during her time with us.

Before our retained list comes out tomorrow it’s a chance to bid farewell to some of the players that will be leaving Abingdon ahead of the start of the 26/27 season⚽️

First up is Mimi Hodges
We say goodbye to Mimi as she embarks on a new chapter with a new club.

After a couple of years with Abingdon United, Mimi leaves having made a lasting impact on and off the pitch. Following a year developing around the first team, she enjoyed a remarkable second season, becoming a key figure in our success and earning both the Players’ Player Award and FA Women’s National League Player of the Season recognition.

Mimi’s quality, dedication and commitment have been invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given to the club.
