Aboyne were beaten in both Scottish ties tonight, in the Singles Vic Watson went down 21-9 against Kevin Pirie of Whitehall BC at Culter, in the Pairs Willie Donald & Rob McCombie went down by 18-12 against Laurencekirk pair Jim Van De Ruit & Steve McGillivary at Banchory. Next Tuesday Colin Smith,Keith Wilkie & Jockie Coutts play in the triples against Woodend BC at Culter

In last nights league matches the Ladies team of Marie,Jackie and Kay ran out 17-14 winners away to Drumoak. The mens team travelled to Braemar where the points were shared, Powie,Keith and Rob won by 21-9, Willie,Jockie and Ed lost out by 11-15.
Next weeks games see the ladies away to Millbank, while the men are at home to Banchory.
Mixed fortunes on the green tonight,the mens match with Torphins Bowling Club ended with a share of the points, Powie,Keith and Rob won by 20 -7, and Vic,Jockie and Ed went down by 9-19.
In the ladies match Donna,Jackie and Kay got beat by Upper Donside 16-12.
The Forbes Hendry match with Kintore on Sunday ended in a narrow defeat, in the home rink, Raymond,Malcolm,Willie and Rob won 16-13, in the away rink Powie,Keith,Jockie and Ed went down by 24 -16, so Kintore won 37 -32 overall.
Good night all round in tonights league games, the ladies team of Marie,Jackie and Kay won by 15-5 away to Alford, and the men picked up the 4 points at Ballater, Vic,Jockie and Ed won 23-7,and Powie, Keith and Rob won 16-12.
Aboyne lost in the Barclay Harvey cup 26-14 against Torphins Bowling Club ,congratulations to Torphins on their win and wish them all the best in the next round.
Aboyne now have a Forbes Hendry tie against Kintore on Sunday evening.

Aboyne welcomed Kincardine O Neil for the first game of the season, as the players stepped on the green a heavy shower of rain came on, but didnt last that long. Vic, Jockie and Ed got off to a great start against, Cliff Starkey,Ian Bruce and Eddie Hay leading 9-2 after 8 ends but Kinker fought back and the game went into the final end all square at 11 -11, but it was the visitors who picked up 2 shots to win the last end to win by 13-11.
In the other game Powie, Keith and Rob trailed 12-2 after 8 ends against John McDonald,Ronnie Bruce and Tam Dow,the home side dug in and picked up a couple of 3s and a 4 to go into the last end trailing by 1 shot, and picked up a shot in the last end to a share of the spoils in a 15-15 draw. Final score Aboyne 1 KON 3.
Next up is the Barclay Harvey cup on Monday against Torphins at Kincardine O Neil; then Ballater away on Wednesday in the league, while the ladies travel to Alford for their second game of the season.
Aboyne ladies are back in the league for the first time since covid. Tonight they take on Millbank at Aboyne 7pm
