Next Wednesday England kick off their World Cup campaign, and we’re showing every kick of their action.

And we have an offer on for you, all pints on the night are £4 each.

The club will be open from 6pm on the Wednesday, and the offer will run till we close.

This weekend’s fixtures!

We have four senior games for you this coming weekend, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.

On Saturday our first team play away at Ribblesdale Wanderers Cricket and Bowling Club while our seconds host Eagley Cricket Club at the Rossendale Motors Arena at Back Lane.

And then on Sunday we have two cup games. Our first team travel to Read Cricket Club in the Hamer Cup second round while our seconds travel to Feniscowles Cricket Club.

Our thirds were extremely unlucky not to claim the victory yesterday at Little Lever, needing to play just 3 more overs to get a game in.

A tremendous opening partnership of 203 between Alfie Darwin and Evan Pinder set Baxenden on their way for an impressive total of 315/10 off just 39.4 overs.

Well done to all of the teams UTB

Today we saw our U9's compete in the Lancashire Junior Cricket League U9 cup in the second round away at Longridge Cricket Club.

This was a very tight affair that went down to the final over but saw us come away with a victory.

We lost the toss and were put into bat and from the start Longridge's bowling was tight and controlled. Longridge bowled very few extras and the fielding allowed very few runs or over throws. Baxenden batted well and kept the scorecard ticking over until the last pair of Captain Lara and Jude used their pace between the wickets to take us to a respectable score of 225 runs.

Then came our turn to bowl. A wicket in the first over, bowled by Ralph set the ball rolling. Longridge kept the score ticking over up until the 8th over bowled by Lara saw 2 wickets, including a fantastic diving catch by Alex behind the stumps. At this point we swapped wicket keepers for the second half and this saw Rico with a caught and bowled before he claimed his second wicket in his second over. Elijah took 3 wickets in his second over as well, including another catch by Alex and 2 run outs. Alex then came on to bowl and got 2 wickets in his first over. In the final over bowled by Amber, Longridge required 13 runs to take victory and they pushed hard but a wicket on the penultimate bowl put the game out of reach.

This saw Baxenden U9'S secure victory and progress to the 3rd round of the cup, also our 5th victory of the season.

Coaches player of the match (sponsored by Bradley Construction) went to Alex Budd today for his good catches and accurate bowling.
