Here’s the run down on our last three weeks of football!
𝙆𝙪𝙙𝙤𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨
An away game against Kudos Reserves saw us going into half time at 2-2 with goals from Martyn Hesketh (Reece Stansfield assist) and Chris Parr (Tyler Campbell assist) keeping us level; however, after the first half, things didn’t quite go our way and some well taken goals saw us 5-2 down and our first loss of the season.

After a goal-less first half despite some good football from FC Globe and a defensive half for AFC Burnley, both teams kicked it up a gear in the second half. A hatrick from Scott Aspden (assists from Chris Parr, Callum Whitehead and Reece Stansfield) gave us the win as the game finished 3-2.

After going down 2-0 early, the lads dug deep and pulled back 2 goals. A solo goal from Callum Whitehead who skipped past Mavericks and slotted the ball away and a free kick from Reece Stansfield from near the corner flag saw the lads bring the score back to 2-2 on the half hour mark. 46 mins and Mavericks put away their third; we had a quick response when Josh Holden headed the ball back into the box from a corner to meet Martyn Hesketh who saw us level again. The floodgates then opened for Mavericks, scoring 3 more goals without a reply from us, ending the game 6-3 and marking our second loss of the league cup.
A tough few weeks for the lads with injurys and availability but as always we dug deep and everyone gave their all no matter the scoreline.
As always, we will see you next week! ⚽️

Today marked the start of our League Cup campaign, with our first match against FC Hyndburn. In this cup, we only get to play each team once and the top 2 get into the final, so we were hoping to kick it off with a win!
The game started well for us as we pressed hard and won the ball early, creating chances and having a few attempts on goal. Our first goal came only after 15 minutes when Tyler Campbell found the path of Chris Parr to open our scoring, 1-0. Shortly after, a through ball from Chris Parr ran into the path of FC Hyndburn’s goalkeeper, only for Reece Stansfield to nick it and tap it into the goal, 2-0. We had a lot of the ball, trying to play and create more chances whilst leaving Hyndburn with very few opportunities in the first half. Just before half time, Callum Whitehead, with some great footwork shifted the ball around the edge of the opponents box and slotted the ball away to end the half, 3-0.
3-0 HT🔵
Second half and we knew despite the scoreline we had a few more gears to go and we still weren’t playing our best. We were caught off guard 2 minutes in by a clearance from Hyndburn that managed to meet the path of Hyndburn’s striker to make it 3-1. We responded well, pressing and taking more care of the ball and 5 minutes later, a cross from Matty Burrows found Chris Parr who slotted away his second, 4-1. 68th minute and abit of play outside out Hyndburn’s box saw Reece Stansfield set Scott Aspden who smashed the ball top right, 5-1. Shortly after, Hyndburn managed to get a second goal. After having very little of the ball, a through ball past our relaxed back line saw us concede a second goal. 85th minute and Reece Stansfield delivered a corner which was headed away by Scott Aspden, his second of the game, and taking us to 6-2. A minute later and Josh Holden found Callum Whitehead and with another calm finish, we increased our lead to 7-2. 88th minute and Reece Stansfield took another corner and found the head of Scott Aspden again who headed it home to finish the game at 8-2 and complete his hatrick!
8-2 FT🟡
A fantastic effort from all the lads and a great start to our cup run!
Well done to our Man of the Match; Josh Holden⚽️
