Communities Committee - 27/04/2026 - Monday 27 April 2026, 10:00am - North Lanarkshire Council Webcasting 17/05/2026

For those interested in the Community Asset Transfer of the Glenmavis Community Centre:

We are part of the Airdrie Martial Arts Centre group which is involved in trying to take over the running of the GCC as a place to train Martial Arts while still allowing use by the Community/Interested Parties.

I highly suggest that anyone who takes an interest in this to please read the CAT Applications and their Scoring documents to understand the views of the Assessors.

For those who wish to read both Community Asset Transfer Applications, the documents can be found here under Airdrie Martial Arts Centre and Glenmavis Community Group slightly down the page:

https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/your-community/working-communities/community-asset-transfer-and-participation-requests/active-community-asset-transfer-cases

Not all documents are available for downloading but everything that was submitted was taken into account when the scoring was done. I assume they are not on the download list for a legitimate reason (eg perhaps confidentiality reasons?)

The scoring for both (and more importantly, why they were scored as such) can be found here under Agenda 8 and Agenda 9:

https://northlanarkshire.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/1057856

Anyone who wanted to share their opinions on the possible outcomes were supposed to have submitted their opinions by emailing the NLC by February 20th 2026 by 5pm. Anything submitted after this, would not be eligible for consideration.

Please feel free to share this - especially with those who live in the area or may have an interest in the current situation.
