Another fantastic weekend for Alfreton CC, with standout performances across our senior sides.

This week’s Players of the Week are:

⭐ Matt New – 79 & 4-43* in a superb all-round display as the 1st XI secured a local derby victory over Riddings CC. Matt starred with both bat and ball, helping bowl Riddings out for 135 before guiding Alfreton home unbeaten.

⭐ Ryan Newton – A brilliant 56 for the 2nd XI, producing a composed and influential innings against a good side.

Congratulations to both players on outstanding performances. Well deserved recognition after a brilliant weekend for the black and gold! 💛🖤

Following last weekend’s efforts, the side will be looking to bounce back and put in a strong performance against a competitive Belper side.

It’s derby day at Alfreton Park as the 1st XI take on local rivals Riddings CC in Division One action.

After a mixed run of results, Tom New’s side will be looking to make home advantage count and continue their push up the table against a Riddings side fighting hard at the other end of the division.

🏏 ACC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 🏏

Another outstanding weekend across the club saw some superb performances with both bat and ball, making this week’s selection one of the toughest of the season.

👏 Ryan Coe – 57 runs for the Sunday XI in a commanding victory over Kirkby Portland CC.

👏 Graham Hibbert – An unbeaten 81 for the 2nd XI, helping rescue the innings before guiding the side to a huge win over Nutbrook CC.

👏 Zabiullah Ahmadzai – Back-to-back five-wicket hauls for the 1st XI, finishing the weekend with an incredible 10 wickets.

👏 Luke Newton – A magnificent 122* for the 2nd XI, arriving at the crease with the side under pressure and producing one of the innings of the season.

👏 Owen Comins – A crucial 68 in the same innings, helping turn the game around alongside Newton and Hibbert.

👏 Jack Newton – An unbeaten 66 for the Sunday XI, anchoring the innings in a comprehensive victory.

👏 Evan Dando – Outstanding with the ball, claiming 4 wickets as the Sunday XI bowled Kirkby Portland out for just 60.

🏆 Player of the Week goes to Luke Newton for his remarkable unbeaten 122. Coming to the crease with the 2nd XI in deep trouble, Luke produced a match-winning innings that completely changed the course of the game and laid the platform for a 190-run victory.
