After 2 amazing seasons, it’s time to say goodbye to Cameron Welsh who flies back to South Africa today. It’s always a sad time of the year as our overseas players at Riddings become like family and Cam is no different. Having scored a total of 1878 runs, taken 75 wickets and 29 catches during his time, winning us countless games, including helping us get to Division 1, the highest level the club has ever played in the DCCL, his name will forever be in our history as one of the finest players to have played for the club. Highlights include a wonderful 135 off 116 balls at Tutbury this year, along side 14 other scores of above 50, and his 7/42 against Sandiacre in 2025 was one of the best spells we’ve seen to win us a game from absolutely nowhere. As Cam takes a year out to explore a job opening back home, we wish him well and we all hope it’s not the last time we see him in a Riddings Shirt. Thank you Cam for the memories, your amazing contribution to our great club, you are a genuine match winner and we will miss you ❤️🇿🇦 ✈️
