Match report: U8’s Panthers

An amazing start to the season for the panthers. Two games in and two outstanding performances!!

This week the panthers faced off against a familiar opponent from last season. In no time at all the boys got to work putting what they had been learning in training into practice passing the ball and moving into space, maintaining possession and applying pressure to the opponents defence. This continued until a well placed pass back to Logan lead to a beautiful goal from just inside the half way line. After the first goal the boys continued to work hard with Logan securing a second goal and Oliver putting two in the back of the net.

A great game of football, another strong performance from the panthers!

Congratulations to our players of the match Oliver, for an outstanding performance and two great goals.

Junior, who played out of position for us and gave us a defensive masterclass.

The Eagles hosted their first home game of the season down at a sunny DNA.

After a bit of an unsettled start, the ball broke through into the Hucknall area and Mase was first to pounce. On 5', A clattering with their defender culminated in a penalty being awarded. Up stepped Mase and calmly drilled the ball low into the net.

5 minutes later, a fantasic throughball by Ethan was met by Mase once again finding the back of the net!

On 23' Hucknall pulled one back from a corner, and not long after it was half time.

The second half was a really good test for the Eagles, both teams looked threatening going forward with the Eagles defence holding firm to see out the game 🦅

MOTM - Ethan! Played a blinder of a first half, Lots of really good link up play with players around him and an outstanding through ball to get an assist! Well done Ethan!

PMOTM - Mason! Chased down everything upfront today, scored a pen to get the ball rolling and found the net again 5 minutes later! Unfortunate to not get a couple more too! Well done Mase!

U9 Raptors v U9 Vipers

It was Derby day as the Raptors faced the Vipers in a clash between the two Alfreton teams.

The Vipers got off to a very strong start, leaving the Raptors with a mammoth task going into the second half.

The Raptors’ opening goal came in spectacular fashion, with Charlie launching a huge kick-out from his hands that bounced over the Vipers keeper and found the back of the net.

Next up were Harvey and Aria, who both reacted quickly to get to the ball first and slot home their goals.
The Vipers responded strongly and continued to put the Raptors under pressure.

Today might not have been the Raptors’ day on the scoreboard, but what was most impressive was the fact that they never let their heads drop. Even when faced with such a big task, they encouraged each other, kept pushing and carried on fighting right until the end.
That just shows great teamwork, character and togetherness.

Parents player - Louie, for his persistence at the back, lovely timed tackles, strength and determination, and some great balls played out from the back.

Coaches player - Charlie F, for only his 2nd game with the Raptors it did not show. For his tireless work tracking back and forth, great strength, and tackles.

ATJFC U13 Titans Match Report

The Titans lined up in their blue change kit against Allestree Juniors Dortmund.

A mixed first half saw Titans go 1 nil down against the run of play, equalising shortly before half time with a great goal from Henry.

An injury to one of the Dortmund players reduced them to 8 players and Titans showed great sporting behaviours by also dropping to 8.

The second half brought a spirited display, with much more fluid football being played. 2 goals for Reece and a first league goal for Ethan gave the Titans their 3rd win of the season maintaining their unbeaten start.

A real team effort today from all the lads got them over the line! There were some great performances all round but player of the match was Henry who battled the whole game as well as his first half goal.

All of the Titans hope the Dortmund player makes a speedy recovery.

U9 ATJFC Vipers vs ATJFC Raptors Match Report

What a derby day for the Alfreton Vipers as they put in a fantastic team performance against local rivals Alfreton Raptors!

The Vipers started brightly, with Jude looking dangerous from the first whistle and testing the goalkeeper early. Lucas was causing problems down the wing, taking on defenders with confidence, while Harley continued the attacking pressure. At the back, Blake was strong in the tackle and Noah made an important save to keep the Raptors out.
The pressure eventually paid off when Jude opened the scoring from a tight angle after a great assist from Lucas. Moments later, Lucas produced a moment of magic, finding the net from halfway to extend the lead. Noah was called into action again, making another crucial stop, before the Vipers benefited from an own goal.
The goals kept coming. Noah pulled off a stunning save to deny a powerful effort, while Jax and Kingy entered the action and immediately made their presence felt. Jude then scored a brilliant long-range effort before adding another after being set up once again by Lucas. With Mason also making an impact, showing great footwork, and strong defending from Kingy and Harley, the Vipers went into the break full of confidence after an outstanding first half.
Second Half
The Vipers carried their momentum into the second half. Lucas continued to threaten the goal, while Jax put in an excellent defensive display, winning challenges and keeping the Raptors at bay. Blake continued his strong tackling, and although Jude and Harley both came close to adding to the score, the Raptors were holding firm.
Defensively, the Vipers were outstanding. Mason made a vital goal-saving intervention, while Noah was commanding around his goal, producing more excellent saves and clearances whenever needed.
Going forward, the Vipers continued to create chances. Blake tried his luck from distance, Jude kept testing the defence, and then Lucas scored an absolute cracker. Not finished there, Lucas showcased some fantastic footwork before scoring again to cap off a brilliant individual performance.

Noah earned the team's award after producing a series of top-quality saves throughout the match, keeping the Raptors out on numerous occasions and providing the platform for the Vipers to shine going forward.

⚽ MATCH REPORT | Annesley AFC Oaks 0–11 Alfreton Town Juniors Allstars ⚽

Today, the Allstars made the short trip to Sutton Lawn to face Annesley AFC Oaks in what was always going to be a good test, with both teams having started the season with wins.

It’s hard to write a match report when the scoreline was as convincing as this, but full credit to Annesley, who continued to compete and work hard throughout the game, even though the match had got away from them. 👏

The Allstars produced an excellent team performance from start to finish, showing great confidence, composure and a fantastic work rate across the pitch.

Seven different players found the back of the net, with Austin claiming a well-deserved hat-trick. There was also a fantastic strike from Rowen, which was an absolute screamer, the frame of the goal may still be shaking! 🚀⚽

At the back, the lads showed great confidence. They were never really threatened, but when called upon, they were there to clean things up. They worked really well together, with some excellent distribution from defence through to attack.

The midfield battled hard, won plenty of possession and kept the team moving forward.

Up front, the lads were clinical, while Evan and Daniel worked tirelessly on the wings and caused plenty of problems for the Annesley defence.

Most importantly, it was a great team effort, with every player contributing and working for each other.

There will undoubtedly be tougher tests to come over the next few weeks, but the Allstars have made a fantastic start to the season with two wins from two. 🚀

Austin’s work rate and effort were through the roof today, and he capped off an excellent performance with three well-taken goals. A thoroughly deserved award! 👏⚽

ATJFC U13 Titans match report

The Titans followed their first week win with a well fought 3-2 victory against Chadd Colts.

A back and forth game where Titans battled back from a break away goal in the first half. The lads showed great resilience for the entire game.

A competitive debut from Mylo who contributed with a goal and an assist. A really strong performance in the middle of the park.

Our goalkeeper Logan made a number of fantastic saves to keep the Chadd strikers at bay. And at half time could have easily been player of the match.

But Alfie followed an impressive performance last week with an even better performance this week. His strength and constant battling resulted in 2 well deserved goals and an assist. And was rightfully the player of the match for Titans.

The lads really showed some great teamwork and never gave up, with the winning goal coming just 1 minute from full time.

As always a big shoutout to our parents for their support.

U9 Alfreton Vipers vs Chellaston Tigers Match Report

The Alfreton Vipers put on a fantastic display in their second game of the season, producing an exciting performance full of teamwork, determination, and quality football against Chellaston Tigers.
The Vipers started brightly and were quickly on the attack. Lucas tested the goalkeeper early with two efforts on goal, while the Tigers' keeper was called into action to make a brilliant save. The breakthrough soon arrived when Blake unleashed a screamer into the net to give the Vipers the lead.
The team continued to play some excellent football, with Harley finding the goal after a great pass from Jude. Strong passing moves were becoming a feature of the Vipers' play, and Lucas set the tone defensively with an excellent tackle. The pressure continued to build, forcing an own goal from Chellaston as the Vipers extended their advantage.
Defensively, the Vipers were outstanding. Harley produced a superb tackle, Jax held the line brilliantly, and Noah confidently dealt with a dangerous free-kick. Mason was alert throughout, sweeping up loose balls and protecting the goal whenever needed.
The attacking play was equally impressive. Lucas and Harley combined brilliantly on several occasions, creating and scoring goals through their excellent understanding. Kingy worked hard at both ends of the pitch, earning corners and creating opportunities, while Blake remained a constant threat. Jax also thrilled spectators with some excellent footwork as the Vipers controlled much of the first half.
The second half continued in the same manner. The team's passing and movement were superb, with Jax once again excelling, breaking up attacks and frustrating the opposition. Lucas showed great skill on the wing, dribbling down the line before finishing a well-worked move. Another excellent team goal followed, with a corner from Kingy leading to a Harley pass and a Lucas finish.
The whole squad looked in top form. Harley hit the crossbar, Blake continued to test the opposition defence, and Noah produced more important saves when called upon. Lucas crossed dangerously into the box, and Blake provided a lovely pass for Jude to score. The partnership between Lucas and Harley continued to shine, combining once again for another goal.
As the game drew to a close, Jax remained solid in defence, continually stopping opposition attacks, while Noah made another crucial block. It capped off a cracking team performance from the Vipers, who showed quality, commitment, and excellent teamwork throughout.
Player of the Match was Jax
Jax earned the Players' Player award for his outstanding defensive display, regularly winning the ball back, stopping attacks, and showing great strength and determination throughout the match.
Final Verdict: A brilliant all-round performance from the Alfreton Vipers, with excellent teamwork, strong defending, and some superb goals making it a memorable second game of the season. 🐍⚽

Match report - ATJFC U14 All Stars v Rainworth Juniors

All Stars 7–0 Rainworth Juniors

What a way to start the 2026/27 season! After a summer break, Sunday mornings at DNA are back, and the All Stars wasted no time making their mark! 🔥⚽

Following weeks of hard work and preparation, we welcomed Rainworth Juniors to DNA. The lads were full of energy from the first whistle, and our new recruits, Evan and Daniel, immediately caused problems with their pace.

The All Stars created early chances, and the pressure soon paid off. Lewis reacted quickest from a poorly defended corner to fire us into the lead.

1–0!

The midfield then took control, with runners everywhere and Rainworth struggling to cope with the intensity. Harry spotted the keeper off his line and calmly picked his spot to double the advantage.

2–0!

The All Stars continued to dominate, while Layton, Dylan and George kept things tight at the back. George had little to do in goal, but when called upon, he calmly collected the ball and helped launch another attack.

Wave after wave of pressure eventually led to a third. Charlie showed great composure, lifting the ball over the Rainworth keeper and into the net.

3–0!

Rainworth struggled to break through, and the All Stars kept pushing. Austin’s persistence and hard work were rewarded as he eventually found the back of the net.

4–0!

Half Time: All Stars 4–0 Rainworth

The second half brought more of the same. The All Stars continued to press, creating chance after chance and stretching Rainworth across the pitch.

Harry then struck again from the edge of the box, calmly finishing to make it five.

5–0!

The All Stars were rampant. Whenever Rainworth threatened, the defence and George were there to shut the door. Leo worked tirelessly, Dylan made brilliant runs, and the whole team continued to move the ball with purpose.

Daniel then ghosted in at the back post and calmly slotted home.

6–0!

Rainworth were running out of answers, but the All Stars showed no signs of slowing down. Harry completed his hat-trick with another composed finish.

7–0!

Isaac also did brilliantly to win a penalty, although we’ll conveniently forget what happened next! 😂

The final whistle confirmed a dominant opening-day victory.

The lads played with huge intensity from start to finish, putting Rainworth under serious pressure throughout. The back line and George were excellent when called upon, the midfield completely bossed the game, and the forward line looked dangerous all afternoon.

There will be tougher tests ahead, but the standard has been set. A massive well done to every player for a brilliant team performance and an outstanding start to the season! 👏⚽
