Things escalated
New programme day is always exciting.
Yesterday, these three ladies all started their brand new training programmes.
Every programme I write is built around the individual. Their goals, their experience, their injuries, their lifestyle, what they enjoy, and what they need most right now.
People often ask why I don’t change exercises every week.
The answer is simple; because progress comes from consistency.
Keeping the same programme for around 6 weeks gives you time to:
Get stronger
Track your progress
Build confidence with each movement
Improve your technique
Give your muscles enough consistent stimulus to adapt
But after a while, your body adapts, your goals evolve, and we might uncover new strengths (or new challenges!). That’s when it’s time for a fresh programme to keep you progressing, motivated and moving towards your goals.
No random workouts.
No guessing.
Just a plan that’s designed specifically for you and evolves as you do.
Things I used to say, part 3
This isn’t really a song about the gym.
It’s a song about believing that change is possible.
Not because you’re fearless.
Not because you’ve suddenly found endless motivation.
Not because you’re “the type of person” who loves exercise.
But because you decided to take one small step.
I’ve watched women walk through the doors convinced they were too old, too unfit or too far gone.
Months later they’re carrying shopping with ease, climbing stairs without thinking twice, feeling stronger, moving better and seeing themselves in a completely different light.
That’s what strength gives you.
Not just a stronger body…
A stronger belief in yourself.
If you’ve followed this little series from the beginning, thank you.
And if you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to start…
Maybe this is it.
Because the women who change their lives aren’t the ones who are the most special or the bravest.
They’re the ones who started anyway.
Things I used to say, part 2
“I don’t want to get bulky.”
“I don’t want to look like a man.”
“I’m all or nothing.”
“I can’t stick to anything.”
I’ve heard every one of these.
The women who now lift weights, feel confident in their bodies and show up consistently once believed those things too.
You don’t need to be an all-or-nothing person.
You don’t need perfect motivation.
You don’t need more willpower.
You just need to stop waiting until you feel ready.
Because confidence doesn’t come before you start.
It comes because you started.
One thing I’m incredibly proud of is that people don’t tend to come to Team Thrive for a few weeks and disappear.
In fact, my newest 1:1 client in this video has been with me for over a year.
Some have been here for 2 years.
Some for 3 years.
Some even longer.
I asked them a simple question:
“Why have you stayed?”
Their answers had nothing to do with the latest fitness trends, quick fixes or perfect motivation.
They talked about support.
Consistency.
Accountability.
Friendship.
Feeling stronger.
Feeling better.
That’s exactly what I hoped Team Thrive would become.
To every client who has trusted me with their health and fitness journey, thank you.
Here’s what they had to say…
17/06/2026
For years I thought the answer was always to do more.
More workouts.
More cardio.
More intensity.
But over the last few weeks I’ve actually reduced my training volume.
Here’s what’s happened:
Hit my lowest weekly average weight I’ve had in years
Recovery has improved
I’ve had fewer injury flare ups
My energy levels have been higher
I’m enjoying training and looking forward to sessions
We are often told to push harder to get results.
Sometimes the real magic happens when you stop fighting your body and start working with it.
Recovery isn’t laziness.
It’s part of the plan.
How many of these have you said?
💭 I don’t have time.
💭 The gym is too intimidating.
💭 I’m too old to start.
💭 I just do cardio.
💭 Maybe this is just the way I am.
Most of the women I work with have said at least one of them.
Not because they’re lazy.
Not because they lack willpower.
Not because they’re incapable.
Because starting something new is scary.
The women you see lifting weights, feeling stronger and showing up consistently didn’t start with confidence.
They started with one small step.
