Connecting girls with sport across South Manchester Vixen Sport was born out of frustration - and ambition.

In the UK, girls are not engaging and enjoying sport, yet we are not identifying the issues that create and compound this. My 11 year old daughter and I decided that maybe we could help to do something about this. Firstly, we hope to facilitate better access to local sports for girls, and secondly seek to address the lack of clothing that would make girls feel they have the right gear to 'fit in' and take part. This is a story yet to be finished - and we hope you'll be part of it.

What do YOU think? How can we tackle this girl by girl, town by town?

Our aim is to make it easier for girls (and their parents) to discover and connect with local sports - particularly team sports. This has been an evolving concept for a few years and we’d love to be fuelled further by support of others and new ideas of how to make it happen. Get in touch!

Life and other commitments have disrupted posts in here, for which I’m sorry 😔. However reading this article has sparked a reaction - girls activity levels and access to sport have decreased hugely during lockdown and this is NOT ok for many reasons.

What do you think? How can we address this across South Manchester in these challenging times?
