Happy New Year DBU!!! Now that we’ve said farewell to 2022 👋 let’s start the new year strong 💪 with…..well more of the same please!!! You lot have all made training in the rain and cold on a Monday and Thursday night epic! All the best for 2023 and see you out in the cold very soon…..(we’ve drunk barrels of booze 🍷 and have bodies made up of 90% cheese 🧀 to incinerate 🤪)….. Let’s Go!

Tough & Quick blast- try it?

⏱ 24 minutes duration.

⏯ 5 sets of 10 reps per round.
⏩ Complete each round in under 4 mins and rest.

EACH ROUND OF:
1️⃣10 Chest to Floor Burpees
2️⃣10 Chair Step Ups into Air Squat
3️⃣10 In/Out Squat Jump (20 Jumps)
4️⃣10 Alt Lunge Twist Hold (10 each leg)
5️⃣10 Toes to Hands into Squat Thrust
………REST WHEN FINISHED …………

Less than 10 days to go till and take on the monster that is Hyrox (Birmingham) and all that it entails. 😳🙀

➡️Here’s a little glimpse of some of the training they’ve been doing and the amazing total they have ammassed so far. 👍💪

➡️None of the lads have ever done an event like this before and are absolutely 🧱’ng it. But it’s for a very very important cause:

➡️ the campaign against living miserably does such an vital job and like CALM DadBods Unlimited stands together with everyone who’s struggling with life, no matter who they are, where they’re from or what they’re going through. CALM does it through life-saving services, national campaigns, and by building communities. It’s an honour to use our small platform here at Dadbods to help raise awareness and more importantly help raise funds through taking part in Hyrox this year!

And just like that…….someone turned summer off!!! Don’t fear if Mondays session is anything to go by our DadBods ❤️ training in the cold, dark and wet! 💪👊 🦁

Here’s Mondays main event (a little workout named S*x Panther 🤭👀) below for you to try out yourself. Very Hyrox focussed so heart rates were up and legs suitably tender after!!!

🔥30 mins AMRAP

▶️AMRAP: 🔥💪🏼🔥💪🏼🔥💪🏼
⏱ 30 minutes duration. 
🔁 3 rounds. 10 mins per round.
🚩 set out 5 cones in a straight line each 5 metres apart.
👬teams of 3.

ROUND 1
1️⃣ 1st person sprints 5 metres to first cone, turns and bear crawls back to start line, turns and sprints to second cone and bear crawls back, repeats non stop to fifth cone. First person completes all five cones. Then moves to 3️⃣

2️⃣ 2nd Person - non stop burpees until 1st person finishes ⏩1️⃣

3️⃣ 3rd Person rests or Air Squats non stop then ⏩2️⃣

🔀Every team member moves station when person finishes on the cones.

ROUND 2
Replace bear crawl with Lunge Walk (with back knee to ground)

ROUND 3
Replace bear crawl with Burpee Jumps

🎯Max effort throughout. 2 mins rest between rounds. Aim to keep bpm at 80% of your max.

DadBodsUnlimited does HYROX (Birmingham) 🤘🦁🏅

Four of our DadBods take on the almighty challenge of Hyrox next month for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) because we all need to be more mindful!!

HYROX is a global fitness race. Participants from all around the world compete in the exact same format and we will be taking on this challenge in Birmingham on Sat 15th Oct 2022.

The race starts with a 1 km run, followed by 1 functional movement, which repeats 8 times. It's going to be horrible, but so is struggling with mental health.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against su***de. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK su***des are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably.From advice on our site, through to free, confidential chats with our helpline staff, online or on the phone, we’re here for whoever needs us, every day. No matter what. £8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.

This weeks featured workout: SUMMER McLOVIN’

For your heart pumping pleasure…

⏱ 30 minutes duration
🔄 2 non stop circuits of 14 minutes with 2 minute rest (then repeat)
⏭8 exercises:
1️⃣20metres of BURPEE BROAD JUMPS
2️⃣300metres RUN
3️⃣20metres of DEEP LUNGES
4️⃣ 300metres RUN
5️⃣20metres of WALK OUT PRESS UPS
6️⃣300metres RUN
7️⃣20metres of ALT LUNGE INTO SQUAT JUMP
8️⃣300metres RUN
Keep going for 14 minutes then repeat.

‼️MODIFY - shorten the distance to 10m for the exercises and 100m for the run or add in a rest period after each run‼️

SIMPLES 😜😬

Modify – if you want to start slower and build up then simply half the seconds and reps and build up from there.  So for example Day 1 could be 30 seconds Plank + 12 press ups and 12 burpees and finish on day 31 with 2.5 minute plank, 24 press up and 25 burpees

What better way to mark DadBods turning 2 than to have a cheeky little (made up) awards bash slash knees up with some of the crew! Lovely little presentation by some great “winning” of awards by and (well done lads) a lovely sprinkling of DadBods Merch and one too many beers around Hale and Altrincham! What’s not to like about that? (Oh yeah yesterdays hangover 😮‍💨) in all seriousness though. What a 2+ years it’s been. All 29 members are fitter, our minds that little bit less stressed and our accountability group stronger than ever! If you’re not a natural trainer or find it hard to drag yourself to a gym or sports field then DadBods really is the shot in the arm for you! Join us for year 3?? 😜
