Your first property development can be exciting. Just don’t let the excitement get ahead of the numbers.🏗️
Three things to think about early:
🔎 Do your due diligence
Understand the site, planning position, access, costs, market and potential risks before committing.
📊 Build a realistic appraisal
Don’t rely on best-case assumptions. Understand the complete financial picture and allow for genuine unexpected costs.
👥 Build the right team
An experienced contractor, architect, Quantity Surveyor and other appropriate professionals can be a major asset on your first project.
You don’t need to know everything before starting your first development.
But you do need to know when to ask questions and when to bring in people with more experience.
