Bowdon Bowling LTC

Last Sunday saw our mini Louden tournament with 12 brave entrants (perfect number) who enjoyed the warm spring sunshine.

There were 6 couples with a handicap in place.

Close scoring led to two semi-finals:

Mike Moore and Karen McCann played Neil Moore and Sophie Joyce

Tony Hall and Kathy Calderbank played Nick Hill and Barbara Clift

The decider was a chamionship (1 point) tie break whichw as won by Nick and Barbara.

Great work by everyone. Nick kept things running (with a bit of help from me), whilst teas were provided with some home made biscuits from Karen.

Many congratulations to our Head Coach David Bryceland who won the 2025 Cheshire Tennis for Life Award for his continuing dedication to the game. Here's a picture of him receiving his award alongside his wife Becky.

A lovely number (12!) for last night's social in the sweltering heat. Not quite last week's 24, but enough for everyone to get plenty of games and mix in.

Following on from the great fun of the recent whist drive, the latest social event was last night’s quiz. Every seat was taken and brains were wracked. It was very close but the ultimate winners were The Wagatha Quiz Team who put in a solid performance. 🎉🥇

It was great for members to get together tonight at The Stamford Pub.

We had a great evening thanks to Karen organising a whist drive. Such fun for all involved. Good turnout and lots of fun.
