BSB RD 6 - Thruxton
Really enjoy coming to Thruxton, It always provides great, close, fast and exciting racing and this year was no different🔥
Free Practice - Due to not being able to test at this track we were given two FP sessions this round which was a nice change. FP1 was an early one being out at 0930 which certainly was one way to wake up in the morning! I finished the session 5th with a time of 1:23.6 (1.4s faster than last year’s best time already). For FP2 we made a small tweak to the suspension set up which helped me to get more comfortable on the bike. I finished this session 3rd with a time of 1:22.4👌🏻
Qualifying - A slightly frustrating session for me despite going quicker again as I couldn’t find the right tow which is massive here at Thruxton. I finished 7th with a 1:22.0
Heat Race - Starting 4th I got a good start and sat in 4th for the first few laps I watched the gap to 5th on my pitboard go up meaning I could relax and focus on those infront. I then made a move up into 3rd with 3 laps to go, annoyingly a slight mistake from myself let them back through and in the process ever so slightly lost the tow. Starting the last lap I decided not to force it and just relax and bring the bike home. I finished 4th but also managed to set the fastest lap of the race with a 1:21.2 - only 0.2s off the race lap record🔥
Main Race - I lined up 8th and ready for a 12 lap scrap. Unfortunately on lap 4/12 I tucked the front into T3 from 7th position, Sorry True Heroes Racing 😩 Big thanks to my mechanics Andrew Buchanan and for getting the bike stripped down and repaired before even leaving the circuit, absolute legends💙
An extremely disappointing way to end what had been another mega weekend up until that point. Nonetheless once again managing to prove I can run right up the front with the best and compete for podiums!
