Andover Cricket Club Andover is a friendly and progressive Club with over 300 members offering cricket to old and young alike for all ages, abilities and genders.

Andover Cricket Club was established in 1865, with home games being played at the London Road ground for most the club's history. Still the club's headquarters today, and with over 250 adult and junior members. In 1973 the club became a founder member of the Hampshire League and played its first County Division One League fixture on May 12 1973 away at Hartley Witney, winning by 99 runs. Andover led the league early season but suffered 2 defeats against Portsmouth & Southsea on Aug 4 & New Milton on Aug 11. Despite taking maximum points against St Cross in the last match Andover finished 13 points adrift of New Milton. Andover were runners-up in 1974 and continued to have success through the late 19702 and early 1980s. In 1986, Andover were invited to join the Southern Premier League. Membership of the Southern Premier League lasted until 1994, when in controversial circumstances, Andover were relegated back to the Hampshire League. Following a period of rejuvenation the Club’s fortunes were restored at the end of 1997 season with promotion back to the Southern Premier League was achieved. Since then Andover have continued to perform well at the highest level. At the end of 1999 season Club cricket in Southern England was re-organised into three primary divisions: Gold, Silver, Bronze; when the Southern Premier League was born. The Hampshire League became four 'County' divisions, supplemented by ‘Regional’ divisions - East 1,2 & 3, West 1,2 & 3. Membership of the Southern League was offered to clubs based on achieving certain key accreditation criteria, including:-
Established colts section
Quality ground facilities and conditions
Established colts section
Andover were delighted to be invited to join the Gold Division and become a member of the top ten elite clubs in Central Southern England.

Here's our 2026 Season In Numbers...

We are incredibly proud of the impact we have on the Andover Community and the number of children who are able to access cricket at the club.

This year, we were incredibly proud to run our Step Into Cricket program so successfully. This allowed 130 children in six state schools to play cricket after school, for free, facilitated by our coaches. This was the fourth year we have run Step Into Cricket and we were delighted to achieve a gender-balance across the programs this year.

We are always looking to partner with community groups, so if you'd like to work with us in 2027, drop us a DM!

"A beautiful day in the history of Andover cricket club when circa 1997 we won the Noel Fisher trophy by beating Petersfield at Hursley park. Great win but such a wonderful club day out too as you can see by the support we had on the day. Sadly some of those club legends have left us namely Lesley Morgan, Roly Cook and my father Don Hayward stood behind Roly. The team that day as per the photo. Back Row. 🚨🏆🏆🏆Double Promotion🏆🏆🏆🚨

2s took their deserved crown as champions of their league. Monumental effort by the Jez army featuring a really exciting blend of experience and youth. They only lost once all season, playing good quality, positive cricket that was a pleasure to watch.

By the barest of margins, the 1s have also been promoted (by our maths) by on run rate, having tied on points with Portsmouth & Southsea. A remarkable run winning 7 of our last 9 has seen us rise from 9th in mid June to finish 2nd. An incredible run of form at the right time with everyone in the squad being a match winner at some point. Phenomenal.

Proud day for the club and a day to be proud of the people in the club. Here's to more and better next season.
