1s played out an entertaining match against Pompey & Southsea that was great viewing from the decking. and hit quality 50s as we posted 237. In response pompey we're going nicely at 160-4 but collapsed after a quality piece of fielding by removed their overseas and then (3-35) and (2-37) finished things off. Shoutout to .bishop135 (1-28 off) who bowled beautifully to build pressure through the middle.
2s took on Swilts 3s in a higher scorer on a small pitch. Swllts youngsters batted well to set a big score but the batters weren't fazed. 99 off 56 in an explosive opening partnership with (72) that set it up for the middle order to get us home.
3s went to Ashford and batted first with 62 from Alex Burns and solid contributions of 20/30 from everyone else getting us to 263. (2-27) removed both openers and then a Vinay 3fa kept Ashford behind the game as we cruised to a 3 wicket win.
4s hosted Farley 2s and started well with (39) and Hari Thakar (20) setting a good platform. Unfortunately and middle order collapse resisted only by (24*) left us on 130ao. The lads bowled excellently but Farleyvrode their luck to cruise to a 9-wicket win.
Wins for the top 3 sides, lots of sun and plenty of deck oils. Good Saturday πΊπ

It was a pleasure to officially open our brand news nets this evening with special guests Iris Anderson (our local councillor) and Immy Colley (Test Valley Borough Council).
Our club is driven by the principle of providing affordable cricket to anyone that wants to play. With very tight budgets that just about cover our operating costs, big, capital projects like this require us to work with other community agencies and local business to get the job done.
This project was started by over 230 of our community of members past and present raising Β£10k as a crowdfunder. We were then extremely grateful for support from Sport England, Test Valley Borough Council and our key sponsor Weetcoast to get over the line.
These nets will have a huge impact for all of our 400+ members and their families, as well as the local schools and other organisations that use our site.
We are incredibly grateful to Westcoast, Test Valley Borough Council, Sport England, Cllr Anderson and everyone from our cricket community that pitched in. This is a great example of community organisations partnering with local agencies and business to do something impactful and long lasting. Thank you.

Week 2 Results: 3/4 Aint bad!
1s set Waterlooville 218 after a solid 79 from and 34 from .The boys may have felt 30 short and so it proved as the bowlers struggled to make break through and Waterlooville cruised home.
2s scored an emphatic win at home! At 86-4 skipper Jeremy Hayward joined Andy Green for a mammoth partnership of 184. Both brought up centuries in the final moments with finishing on 105* off 82 and Andy 101* off 73. With runs on the board the guys took regular wickets to stop Mich & Tims from making it close as they finished on 210-8. Anil Thakor the pick with 3-46.
3s travelled to the gorgeous East Woodhay and on a better of a surface, managed to keep the oppo to 193 eith a tight bowling performance. In response it was young Mattie Thain yet again with the key knock. His 58* supported by some bombs from Elliot Mathias (46 off 31) saw us home 4 down with 6 overs to spare.
4s, skippered by Nathan Birks returning from serious injury hosted Broughton. Broughton batted well to set 259 despite some excellent bowling from youngsters Hashim, Kazi and Arav. In reply .nathan passed his fitness test, smashing 138* in a huge partnership with Oscar Veettil 67* who hit his second consecutive classy fifty.
So much to build on and so many youngsters playing match winning roles. Lots to be excited about as our injury list hopefully starts getting shorter!
