Its a break from the Superleague this sunday for Antrim Futsal as we face B team in a friendly at Shankill Leisure Centre

Antrim side will feature a number of new signings made earlier this month, a great opportunity to get the taste of futsal for all the new lads 🔵⚪️⚫️

Our sponsors Specialist Group Project Santa will return on the 3rd and 4th of December. Over two days Specialist HQ will once again transform into a “Christmas Winter Wonderland” for a festival of fun to celebrate Santa’s arrival.

All proceeds raised will go directly to 12 local charities. With the aim of raising over £100,000 for these local charities, Specialist is also running an Ultimate Christmas Charity Raffle.

More frustration for Antrim...

Antrim Futsal vs Afrimeripean 3 - 4

Out of recent results Antrim men will feel really disappointed with this one.
An end to end first half with few decent chances at both ends, with the best opportunity falling to the Antrim side when they have been awarded a “Double Penalty” for Afrimeripean 6th foul. Dobbin stepped up and couldn’t convert with the ball bouncing away off the post.

Afrimeripean took the lead in the opening minutes of second half. Antrim responded well with a quick double and going 2-1 ahead with goals from Dobbin and Gray.

Afrimeripean fought back and responded with a double reply themselves in a short space of time when they scored the equaliser and then went ahead 2-3.

Robinson fired in Antrims 3rd goal and with couple minutes remaining and both teams looking for the winner it was Afrimeripean who left with the 3 points.

An unlucky day for the Antrim side hitting the post and crossbar 5 times in the match…

This Sunday we have a crucial fixture against in the Super League.

A frustrating season for the Antrim men so far finding themselves not where they intended to before the start of the campaign…A victory on Sunday will be a massive boost with regards of qualifying for the Champions League playoffs and getting the season back on track 🔵⚪️⚫️

🗣️ Laura Devine, Chairwoman of the Northern Ireland Futsal Federation shares her thoughts about Futsal Focus on our 10-year anniversary celebrations 🎉

Laura got her first taste of Futsal when she attended trials for the Northern Ireland Women’s National Futsal team where she was eventually called up to the squad for the 2021 Euro Qualifiers. Her futsal experiences have given Laura the bug for the sport, and now she finds herself in an interesting role, where she hopes to help build the league into a sustainable product, encouraging more clubs to take part so both the men’s and women’s sectors can grow and provide more opportunities for those interested to take part.

Antrim Futsal travelled today to Shankil Leisure Centre to face in round 7 of the Superleague, it was the first game between the two sides since the Cup final earlier on in the year.

Antrim once again lined up with a mixutre of youth and experience and with only 7 players available they give a great account of themselves against much imrpved Belfast Celtic side.

Antrim took the lead mid-way through the first half with a brilliant finish from Jakub Sobecki and this scoreline hasn't changed untill the last 5 minutes of the game. Both teams had their goalkeepers to thank for the lack of goals as there were certainly plenty of chances at both ends.
Antrim's player Jones had been shown his second yellow card in the last 10 minutes or so, unfortunate to be sent off after having a great game untill that point.

Belfast Celtic were quick to react as shortly after they have played their fly keeper making it 5 v 3 outfield. It took them quite a while to break down the Antrim team however with 5 minutes left the scoreline was 1-1 and within couple of minutes it was 2-1. Antrim tried to put on the pressure for the remaining time of the game and the Belfast team slotted the 3rd into the empty net with the last kick of the game.

Not the result we wanted however every Antrim player should be proud for the performance, a lot of heart and sweat left on the court.
