Our AUCC U14s are on the road this evening as they take on DHSFP U14s in a hardball fixture.

An incredible 17 teams have signed up and are ready to put their cricket skills to the test in what promises to be a fantastic day of action, competition, and fun.

We’ll be posting the team list and tournament draw over the next week or so, so keep an eye on our page.

A busy weekend ahead for AUCC with all three senior sides back in action!

Our 1st XI travel to Edinburgh to take on Watsonians CC in Eastern Premier League action, while the 2nd XI welcome Masterblasters CC to Lochlands in SPCU Division 1.

On Sunday, our 3rd XI host Forfarshire 4 CC in the R&D League, with a blend of experienced players and talented youngsters looking to keep the momentum going.

Arbroath United Cricket Club vs Forty Club Scotland District

Arbroath United Cricket Club welcomed the Forty Club Scotland District to Lochlands on Tuesday, 12th.

After winning the toss, Arbroath elected to bowl first and made the perfect start, reducing the visitors to 7 for 3 inside the opening five overs.

The Forty Club innings was rebuilt through a composed partnership between Chris Milne and Jonny Barrett, who added valuable runs after the early setbacks. Following Milne’s dismissal, Mark Edwards joined Barrett at the crease, with the pair continuing to build the innings and guide the visitors towards a competitive total. Barrett was eventually bowled for a well-made 30, while Cameron Glasgow also contributed useful runs to keep the scoreboard moving. Edwards retired unbeaten on 52, allowing the Forty Club to finish on 189 from their 35 overs.

In reply, Arbroath made a confident start through openers Ian Worth and D.C. Bridges. Worth led the charge with an aggressive half-century, retiring on 50. The momentum continued as Arbroath’s powerful middle order capitalised, with Craig Cameron also retiring after an excellent 52. Callum Brown ,with more big hitting, and Cole Miller calmly guided the home side to victory, completing the run chase with an over to spare.

It was an impressive all-round team performance from Arbroath United, who combined disciplined bowling with an assured batting display to secure a well-deserved victory.
