Delighted to confirm that Acacia Clash will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

Acacia joined the club last season and quickly became a valued member of the squad. Settling in well and showing a fantastic attitude from day one, she worked hard every week and continued to develop her game.

A strong and committed defender, Acacia always gives 100% for the team and has a bright future ahead of her.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that our management team has been nominated for the Ladies Management Team of the Year Award at the inaugural Lower Leagues of Scottish Football Awards 2026, organised by A Dad, His Lad and His Lad. 🎉

This nomination is a fantastic recognition of the hard work, dedication and commitment shown throughout the season by:

🥧 QUICHE IS STAYING! 🥧

Delighted to confirm that Alisha Davison will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

Better known around the dressing room as “Quiche” (and no, we’re still not entirely sure how that nickname came about! 😂), Alisha has become a huge part of the squad both on and off the pitch.

A hardworking midfielder with endless energy, Alisha brings quality, determination and a real competitive edge every time she pulls on a Gretna shirt. Whether she’s breaking up play, driving the team forward or covering every blade of grass, she always gives 100%.

Last season was another strong one for Alisha and we’re delighted she’ll be continuing her journey with us into 2026/27.

“Alisha is one of those players every manager loves having in their squad. She works incredibly hard, gives everything for the team and leads by example every week.

She’s got great quality on the ball, a fantastic attitude and she’s always willing to put the team first. We’re delighted she’s staying with us for another season.

As for the nickname Quiche… I’ve heard it that many times I’m not actually sure if Alisha is her real name anymore!” 😂

🔥 STAYING ON FOR 2026/27 🔥

Delighted to confirm that Ronnie Holliday will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the upcoming 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

Ronnie joined the squad towards the end of last season and immediately made an impact. Coming into a team that had battled through injuries and a difficult campaign, she settled in quickly and looked right at home in the Gretna defence.

Strong, committed and never afraid to put her body on the line, Ronnie gave us a real presence at the back and showed exactly why she will be an important player for us going forward.

“Ronnie came in towards the end of the season and was excellent for us. It can be difficult joining a new team late in a campaign, but she settled in straight away and gave us exactly what we needed.

She brought calmness, strength and determination to the back line and looked like she’d been here all season. We’re delighted she’s staying on and I’m looking forward to seeing what she can bring to the team over a full season.”

💪 BACK FOR MORE 💪

Delighted to confirm that Danni Mullen will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

Danni joined the club in April and was immediately thrown into the action, making her debut against Annan.

Unfortunately, football can be cruel at times and Danni picked up an injury during that very first appearance, cutting short what should have been an exciting start to her Gretna journey.

Despite the setback, Danni has remained positive throughout her recovery and we’re delighted to see her back training and preparing for the season ahead.

Everyone at the club knows the quality she can bring to the team and we’re excited to finally see her get the opportunity to show what she’s all about in a Gretna shirt.

“It was heartbreaking to see Danni pick up an injury on her debut because she had settled in so well and made a really positive impression straight away.

The way she has handled her recovery has been brilliant and it’s great to see her back out on the training pitch with a smile on her face. We know what she can bring to the squad and we’re all looking forward to seeing her properly kick on next season.”

🌙 ONE LAST SIGNING FOR THE NIGHT… 🌙

And we’re delighted to confirm that Louise Harrison will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

Louise signed for the club in December from Glenbuck & Douglas Valley Football Academy originally as a back-up player to help strengthen the squad — but football had other ideas.

With injuries hitting the squad hard throughout the season, Louise was thrown straight into the deep end and asked to step up in a number of different positions. Whether it was midfield, out wide or filling gaps where needed, she never once complained and always gave everything for the team.

Despite her age and limited experience at this level, Louise adapted brilliantly and showed maturity beyond her years. Her confidence grew week by week and she quickly became a valued member of the squad on and off the pitch.

🗣️ Manager Shaun Harrison said:

“When Louise came in during December it was mainly to help strengthen the squad and gain experience around the team, but injuries meant she had to settle in very quickly.

She’s handled everything we’ve asked of her brilliantly. She’s played in different positions, worked hard every week and shown a great attitude throughout. Louise has improved massively already and there’s still a huge amount more to come from her.”

🔟 SHE’S STAYING 🔟

Delighted to confirm that Sophie Mitchell will be staying with Gretna FC 2008 Ladies & Girls for the 2026/27 season! ⚽🖤🤍

One of the hardest working players in the squad, Sophie gives absolutely everything every time she steps onto the pitch. Whether it’s pressing defenders, making runs, battling for the ball or driving the team forward, her attitude and commitment never go unnoticed.

Sophie had some big moments for the team last season and continued to develop her game week by week. A player who always puts the team first and someone the dressing room absolutely loves having around.

“Sophie has been outstanding for us. Her work rate is unbelievable and she brings energy every single game. She’s the type of player every manager wants in their squad because she gives 100% all the time.

She’s improved massively since coming in and there’s still more to come from her. We’re delighted she’s staying with us for next season.”
