Conor Mc Lean and Jack Turley from Saval were beaten 15-2 and 15-5 in the World Wallball Men's Open Doubles by David Castro and Samuel Sanford. The score doesn't tell the whole story. This was the first occasion they played together in competition and were playing opponents with a vast amount of experience at this level. Hopefully, doubles will be fully integrated into the Irish Nationals and Championship schedule. This would give players the opportunity to gain more experience, improve and compete on the World stage.

Conor Mc Lean represented our Club in Coney Island New York today in the World Wallball Championships. He was beaten 15-5 and 15-1 by Eddie Fontanne. Although Conor was well beaten it doesn't tell the whole story. The game had quite a few great rallies with his American opponent ruthless with his kill shots.

Conor and his partner Jack Turley from Saval play in the Men's Open doubles tomorrow. They play Team Ireland
representatives Fiachra O' Duill from Armagh and Mikey Kelly from Galway. This should be a great game and today's experience should stand Conor in good stead.

This weekend, Conor Mc Lean makes the long trip to New York City to compete on the world stage and proudly represent our club at the World Wallball Championships. 🌎🏆

Conor will be competing against the elite of the sport in the Men's Open and will team up with Jack Turley from Saval Co. Down in the Men's Doubles.

With over 2,000 Wallball courts in New York City it's fair to say that it is the mecca of the sport. The Club wishes him safe travels and to enjoy what will undoubtedly be a wonderful experience.

Best of luck to all the Irish players who are competing in New York — enjoy the experience and represent your clubs, county and country with pride! 🇮🇪🌎🏆

The World Wallball Championships are getting closer, and the energy around this event keeps building.

In September, players from across the world will head to New York City for a tournament that feels bigger than a normal competition. Historic courts, international matchups, packed divisions, and the chance to compete on one of the sport’s biggest stages all in one week.

Some players have been training for this event all year. For others, it’ll be their first chance to test themselves against international competition.

The alley is closed this week due to essential floor maintenance and will reopen Monday 31 August. The Committee meets Tuesday 1 September with coaching resuming Monday 7 September.
