We’re delighted to welcome Dave Barnes as the new Head Coach at Ashbourne Tennis Club!

Dave is an LTA Level 4 Club Performance Coach with more than 25 years’ coaching experience, working with everyone from complete beginners through to county and performance players.

Dave will be building on our existing programme with coaching for juniors and adults of all ages and abilities – and we’re really excited to have him on board.

🎾 COME AND MEET DAVE THIS SATURDAY – 12 SEPTEMBER!

Dave is offering FREE coaching sessions for juniors of all ages and levels, plus Rusty Racquets for adults.

​After 11 amazing years, our Head Coach Aidan Robson is stepping down at the end of the summer!

​A massive thank you to Aidan from Chairman Andy Bailey, the committee, and all our players for his incredible dedication and leadership. We wish him the very best on his next adventure! 🙌

​Ashbourne Tennis Club, Derbyshire | Full-Time (Self-Employed)
​Inherit and grow an established coaching programme at a thriving 4-court club (3 floodlit) with 200+ members and brand-new clubhouse facilities.

​Key Responsibilities:
​Deliver Coaching: Year-round junior and adult programs, 1-to-1 lessons, and holiday camps.

​Grow Participation: Build local school links and introduce new initiatives (e.g., Pickleball, Walking Tennis).

​Program Admin: Manage bookings and schedules via ClubSpark and lead the Junior Championships.

​Key Requirements:
​LTA Level 3 Coach qualification (or above) + current LTA Accreditation.
​Proven track record in coaching, ClubSpark management, and business drive.

A good 5-4 win for the men's 1st team against a strong David Lloyd 2's.

Chris and Mike winning all 3 including the decider.

Welcome to Sam playing his first set of matches for the club this week with Andy.

Aidan and Greg BC getting 2 to provide a W for the men's team.

All players had to attend the post match drink at the Shoulder.

Aimed at juniors aged 4-18 years, our tennis holiday camps are great fun and an opportunity for your child to make friends and improve their tennis skills. All levels are welcome. There will be tennis based games, coaching and other sporting activities.

A 6-3 win for our Men's 1st team away at Rolls Royce, played on the grass which was an enjoyable experience for all especially during this 2 weeks of Wimbledon.

Mike and Aidan taking all 3 matches,
Greg and Matt playing great tennis to get 2 and the formidable pairing of Mr Chairman and GBC started strong to get the win over the 3rd pair.

Great match , great evening played in warm conditions with a full team out despite some mention of a important football match being played out on BBC One at the same time.
