ASHBY HAS A WOMENS RUGBY TEAM — MEET THE ASHBY BULLETTES!

The Ashby Bullettes are Ashby RFC’s ladies team, welcoming women of all abilities and experience levels.

Whether you’re completely new to rugby, returning after a break, or already love the game, there’s a place for you in the Bullettes!

We offer both contact and non-contact (T1) rugby, with coaching from ERCA-qualified and ex-County coaches — so you can get involved in the way that suits you.

What you can expect:
- All abilities welcome — no experience needed
- Contact & T1 Rugby
- ⁠An active social calendar
- ⁠A friendly, supportive team environment
- ⁠Quality coaching and plenty of opportunities to develop

The Bullettees arrived full of excitement for their first T1 League game of the season, facing the Leicester Vipers — a team they narrowly avoided losing to last season in a highly competitive game.

Sadly, Ashby struggled to get out of the blocks early and found themselves two tries down. But after a quick chat from the coaches, newly appointed vice-captain Louise Groom and captain Louise Caller, along with a few substitutions, the ladies began to grow into the game.

Their hard work was rewarded when Lady of the Match, Fern Rossano, claimed a try back for Ashby! 💪🏉

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to spark the comeback we were hoping for. Despite some incredibly valiant defending from the Ashby ladies, the dam eventually broke, with the Vipers adding two more tries before the final whistle.

A tough loss for the ladies to take, but every single player should be proud of the contribution they made. ❤️

There is plenty for the coaches and players to build on as the season continues, and we're sure there will be an opportunity to get some payback on the Vipers later in the season! 🔥🏉

Heads up, Bullettees — this is only the beginning! 💙

What a day to remember! 🏉

On Saturday 25th July 2026, Louise, Louise and Toby had the honour of representing Ashby RFC in a T1 Legends Match at the Festival of Sport in Meriden.

Lining up alongside sporting stars including Austin Healey, Ryan Sidebottom, Dan Hipkiss, Jonathan Joseph, Helen Richardson-Walsh, Toby Garbett, Joel Faron and Claudia Peña, and officiated by Ian Tempest, our Ashby representatives found themselves in truly exceptional company.

A fantastic experience, an incredible event, and a proud moment for Ashby RFC! 🐂❤💙🏉

Rugby legends, elite athletes, social media personalities and community rugby players came together this weekend to showcase T1 Rugby, the fast growing and fun non-contact rugby union format.
