After my playing days, I became a referee, and until you’ve taken on that role, you don’t realise just how difficult it can be.

Players and coaches make mistakes throughout a game, but referees are often criticised for every decision they get wrong.

Now, as a coach, I always make a point of thanking the referee after every game, regardless of their performance. We might not agree with every decision, but we’re all human and we all make mistakes.

Without referees, there simply isn’t a game. ⚽👏

Challenging session with the boys tonight, but sometimes the difficult sessions are the ones where you learn the most. 💪⚽

They’re only 10, they’ll make mistakes, they’ll have tough moments, but the development in this group is so clear to see. Every challenge, every mistake and every session is helping them learn, improve and get stronger together.

Goalkeeping is a different kind of pressure — especially for kids learning the position.

Respect to every young keeper brave enough to pull the gloves on each weekend. 👏
