The largest stretch of water within the M25. All windsurfers welcome to use personal kit, join our kit-inclusive membership or rental!
Queen Mary is one of the largest inland place to windsurf near London. Whatever the wind is doing in the area QM, situated high above the surrounding landscape, will deliver a wind strength 1-2 forces higher. On a windy day it is typical to see advanced windsurfers blasting, jumping, looping and going for big moves whilst beginners and intermediates are progressing on flatter parts of the water. With a pond-size of 700 acres, 1-mile plus reaches are there for the taking.

Spelthorne Watersports Day Launches at Queen Mary Sailing Club
You're invited to celebrate the Early May Bank Holiday with the inaugural Spelthorne Watersports Day, taking place on Monday 4th May 2026 at Queen Mary Sailing Club.
This new community-focused event promises a relaxed and engaging introduction to watersports, set against the backdrop of one of the region’s premier watersports venues.
Get on the water with a half-price taster session;
Dinghy Sailing Taster
RS21 Keelboat Sailing Taster
Wing-surfing Taster
Windsurfing Taster
Open to all, the event offers free entry to the club, giving visitors a chance to explore the facilities and meet the team. Designed to appeal to both complete beginners and those with some experience, the day will centre around accessible, half-price taster sessions on the water (Normally £45).
You can try sailing, windsurfing, and wingsurfing under the guidance of experienced instructors, making it an ideal opportunity to learn more about the wide range of activities available at Queen Mary and maybe discover a new hobby!
