Pirates Canoe Club Pirates Canoe Club (Ashford, Kent) is a warm and friendly kayaking community, founded in 1988, where paddlers can learn in a safe, relaxed atmosphere.

We have over 100 members of all ages, genders and backgrounds paddling kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Based in Kent, but we like to travel! Our base is Conningbrook Lakes, Ashford and the majority of our paddling is done on the various rivers around the South East and on the sea . We have members whose interests include a range of paddle sport disciplines. We run an active calendar throughout the year including pool sessions during the winter months, weekend trips away along with lake sessions. Our away trips could be anywhere in Britain with regular venues including Pembrokeshire, The Gower, Devon, North Wales, Cumbria and Nottingham. We have also run trips throughout Europe including France, Slovenia (white water), Portugal (surf) and Sweden (flat water marathon racing)

We are trying to turn our SUPers into WW SUPers, grow our WW SUPers skills and confidence and get them to rivers! These events have been the beginnings of a longer program.

We recently ran a great beginners and improvers White Water SUP session at Lee Valley for our club members, including juniors, we also invited some keen beginners from another local club. They all loved it so much we are intending to organise another coached session before we starting hitting the rivers over the winter.
