Part of life is giving people time, effort, support and knowing there are people willing to take those things with intention of reciprocating.
Do I want to see them fail?
No. I have too many things to be getting on with to give them a second thought. It’s life after all. They’re someone else’s problem. Move on.
But when those people realise the grass isn’t greener they’ll be welcomed back. But will never have the trust and loyalty they could have had because clearly they’re not my kind of people.
