Some people dream every night. Others can’t remember the last time they dreamt about anything other than turning up at work naked!
But most of us have dreams.
Something we want to achieve. Somewhere we want to go. Someone we want to become. Something we’d love to experience.
And yet, some people are reluctant to even say their dreams out loud.
Why?
Because they’re worried someone will laugh. Tell them they’re aiming too high. Tell them it’s unrealistic. Or worse… they might fail.
And that’s where we go wrong.
Remember those teachers at school who’d say, “Pay attention, because this is going to be on the test!”
They weren’t trying to scare us. They were preparing us to succeed.
Life, unfortunately, comes with plenty of people who are happy to do the opposite. The dream crushers. The idea killers. The people who are experts at explaining why you CAN’T.
And eventually, we start believing them.
We settle.
We accept average.
We tell ourselves, “I’ll never be thin… fit… strong… wealthy… happy… sexy… free…”
Well, if you keep telling yourself that, I’ll guarantee one thing…
You’ll be right.
Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s often the price of admission.
You’re going to get things wrong. You’re going to fall short. You’re going to disappoint yourself.
So what?
Try again.
Your dreams don’t have to be enormous. They just need to be bigger than where you are now.
Because you can’t pursue a dream while simultaneously playing it safe.
So dream bigger.
Say it out loud.
Then go and bloody test it.
Keep dreaming, people.
