Results come from effort, but they don’t always show up right away.

Whether you’re building a business or working on your fitness, it can feel like you’re putting in a lot of effort without seeing much in return at first.

You start out excited, motivated, ready to crush your goals. But then the results don’t come as quickly as you hoped and that’s when many people give up.

The truth is, sometimes you’re closer to success than you realize, but it just takes time for the effort to pay off.

Before deciding it’s not working, take a moment to think about how long you’ve been putting in the work.

I used to be impatient and wanted quick wins. If I didn’t see fast progress, I’d move on too soon.

Now, I understand that real results take consistent effort over time, and there are no true overnight successes.

So yes, results equal effort, but be patient and give yourself enough time before you decide to quit.
Keep going - you’re on the right track!💪

And make it really count this year - 2026 is yours 🎉

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” It’s not just a nice saying – in business, it’s a survival rule.

If you’re running your business on empty, with little energy to give, it’s going to show in your results.

Sure, sometimes you have to push through tough days and keep grinding, but that kind of grit only works if you’re fuelling yourself properly - eating well, getting some exercise, and minimizing those distractions.

If you don’t take care of your body and mind, you’re setting yourself up to underperform. It’s hard to bring your best ideas, your best energy, and your best focus to your business when you’re running low on the basics.

So, if you feel like you’re not performing at your peak, take a hard look at your daily routine.

Are you eating nourishing food? Are you moving your body enough? Are you giving yourself space to recharge? Are you cutting out unnecessary distractions?

Business success isn’t just about hustle and hours worked.

It’s about showing up fully energized and focused, day after day.

So fix those daily habits, and the business side will often follow and the up and coming New Year is a great time to reassess those habits.

Are you getting ghosted? 👻

You hop on a call with a potential client, chat for ages, and it’s all sunshine and rainbows. 🌞
They rave about how your service is exactly what they need, say they’re excited to work with you, and you’re basically doing a victory dance in your head. 💃😃

Then... crickets. Total radio silence.

So, why? 🤔

Well, sometimes you get the classic time wasters - folks who just wanted to window-shop your services and have zero plans to buy. That’s life, no biggie.

But ghosting can also happen because you left the next steps hanging in the air like a bad Wi-Fi signal.

How often do you say, “I’ll leave it with you” at the end of a call? Translation: “I’m scared to ask for a commitment or a date to follow up with the next steps.”

Prospects love knowing exactly what happens next. If you don’t spell it out, they’ll cool off fast then p**f! They ghost you.

Want to stop the disappearing act? Take control of the next move. 💪

Agree on a date and time to follow up. Let them know how you’ll reach out and when so they’re not left wondering if you’re all smoke and mirrors.

Showing up when you say you will builds trust which is the secret of any service-based sale and lowers the chances of your prospects ghosting you.

If you’re selling your services directly to prospects, here’s a quick tip: pay attention to your tone of voice.

Nobody wants to listen to a flat, monotone pitch for too long - it’s like listening to a robot read the phone book.

Try varying your tone to keep the conversation flowing and the prospect interested. Smiling when you speak can help, too - it actually makes your voice sound more upbeat. (Hard to sound grumpy while smiling, right?)

Your prospect might be soft-spoken or more energetic. Using the right tone helps them feel comfortable and open up.

This doesn’t mean losing your personality or mimicking them exactly. It’s about keeping the conversation natural and engaging.

Not sure how you sound? Record your next sales call and listen back - you might be surprised at what you hear and where you can improve.

Back in the day, I used to brag about my multitasking skills.

Juggling projects, meetings, emails, and at least a dozen Chrome tabs (don’t judge).
Meanwhile inside? Full-blown panic mode.

Honestly, I’m amazed I didn’t combust from sheer exhaustion.

How I survived? Pure mystery.

But here’s what I learned the hard way:
Spreading yourself thin = mediocre results. Something had to give.

So I started saying “no.”
❌ No to meetings that could’ve been an email.
❌ No to “productivity apps” that were actually focus vampires.
❌ No to energy-draining social calls disguised as “networking.”

I blocked sacred focus time in my calendar.

I meal-prepped like a boss so dinner wasn’t stealing brainpower.

And guess what? My work stopped sucking.

The biggest lesson? Focus beats multitasking every time.

In sales, this is gold.
👉 Don’t blast every social channel like a desperate influencer. Pick one. Nail it.
👉 Don’t push every offer under the sun. Double down on the one that moves the needle.
👉 Don’t chase every shiny lead. Work the right ones deeply.

Because chasing everything only guarantees you catch nothing.

Next time you’re drowning in a sea of tasks, remember:
Focus isn’t just smart—it’s your secret sales weapon. 🪓

When you’re talking to a new prospect and selling your services, it’s normal to identify their pain points, show empathy, and explain how your service works - including the timeline and the effort required.

But the biggest focus should always be on the outcome.

Clients want two key things above all else:
1️⃣ What results can you deliver?
2️⃣ How much will it cost?

Let’s say the price is clear. Now, focus on the results they want.

Think about your last big purchase - whether it was a new vacuum, an online course, or a car. You probably pictured how it would make your life easier or better before buying.

All purchases come from a need or desire, and people usually spend time imagining how the outcome will feel.

So when you’re selling your services, sell the outcome.

Talk about the difference your services will make to their life or business. Help them visualize the results and the positive change they’ll experience.

Consult on their needs, yes - but make the outcome your main message.

Need customers but no idea where to find them?

Sent DM’s, spent a fortune on ad campaigns and even made cold calls, but nothing?

Sound familiar? You’re not alone.

Here’s the thing:
Most businesses miss the crucial first step - knowing where your ideal clients actually hang out and how to contact them.
For example:
· If your dream clients live online then sliding into their DMs might just work.
· If they avoid social media like the plague, posting pretty pics won’t cut it. Pick up the phone or shoot an email instead.

Biggest mistake? Assuming you know where and how to reach your ideal customer without actually doing the homework.

I’ve worked with companies across many industries and the first thing we nail down is exactly where and how to find and connect with their ideal clients.

Want to stop chasing ghosts and start talking to real prospects? Let’s chat.

Where is your time really going?

If you’re running a business, it’s worth checking how much time you’re spending on things like YouTube videos, reels, email refreshing… or Netflix binges.

Here’s a simple idea: do a time audit for one week.

Track your phone screen time, see how much of it is actually productive, and how much is just scrolling or watching for the sake of it.

Once you see the numbers, you might be surprised how much “wasted” time you’ve got. The next step? Make a plan to cut back on those distractions and use that reclaimed time to actually move your business forward - whether that’s reaching out to clients, creating content, or learning something new.

At the end of the day, small changes in how you spend your time add up to big results.

What about your competitors?
Do you keep your head down and focus only on your own work - ignoring what others in your space are doing?

Or do you make time to study your competitors?

A lot of advice out there suggests we shouldn’t worry about the competition. That we should stay focused on our own goals and not get caught up in comparisons.

And while that can be helpful, I also think there’s value in understanding who else is out there.
✅ What services are they offering?
✅ What do they seem to do well?
✅ Why might clients choose them over you?

This isn’t about copying - it’s about awareness, sometimes, you’ll notice a gap in your own offering that’s easy to fill with a little upskilling or adjustment.

Some of the best advice I’ve received has come from people technically considered “competitors.” We’ve learned from each other and in some cases, even collaborated.

Competitors aren’t something to fear. They’re part of the landscape and paying attention to them might just help you grow.

How do you approach competition in your field? 👇
