The weekend of Mazda racing at Donington Park is complete and what a weekend of top class driving it has been! To round out the weekend we have a Mazda Youth Development driver on the top step: Steve Foden has taken P1 🥇🏆

Fellow Mazda Youth Development driver Andy Gilligan started well in P21 but a little spin out across the grass saw him bring it over the line in P23.

That’s all of the Mazda Mx5 Clubman Championship racing done for the weekend and what a fantastic drive from the rookie Pat Gilligan (78)! After starting in P30 due to a mechanical issue in race 1, he climbed halfway through the field to finish P15 👏

That’s what Mazda racing is all about.

Race one of this weekends BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship has finished and it wasn’t quite the result we were hoping for but there are always positives to take away.

Steve Foden (77) started in P8 but after a couple of unfortunate events dropped right down the pack. However, the recovery drive from there was epic, to bring himself back into the points and finish P7.

Our other championship driver Andy Gilligan (178) started in P26 and had a steady race to finish P25.

Race one of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Clubman Championship is complete at Donington Race Track and unfortunately our driver had a mechanical error and had to retire the car. This leaves it all to play for this afternoon and if there’s one track that’s fun to drive from the back of the grid, it’s this one ☝️

That’s qualifying for the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship at Donington Park complete and changing track conditions made it an interesting drive. Mazda Youth Development driver Steve Foden (77) closed the session in P8, which still puts him in the fight for a podium finish. Our other driver Andy Gilligan (178) brought it home in P28.

It’s round three of the BRSCC Mazda 2026 calendar and we’re at Donington Park for another weekend of racing, kicking off with the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Clubman Championship qualifying. Rookie Mazda Youth Development driver Pat Gilligan (78) finished the session in P19, a respectable result considering the very wet conditions.

🚶🏁 Ending the Day with a Track Walk 🏁🚶

After a productive day of testing, the final task on the agenda was a team track walk.

While the cars are back in the paddock, the work doesn’t stop. Track walks are an important part of driver development, allowing us to analyse every corner, braking zone, apex and overtaking opportunity in greater detail.

It’s a chance for drivers, coaches and team members to share knowledge, discuss different approaches and identify those small improvements that can make a big difference on track.

Today’s testing provided plenty of positives, and the track walk gave us the opportunity to review what we’ve learned and continue building towards the next stage of development.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their thoughts and experience. Motorsport is a team effort, and it’s often these discussions away from the car that help unlock extra performance.

Now it’s time to take everything we’ve learned today and put it into practice next time we’re on track. 👊🏎️

🏁 Productive Day. Plenty of Progress. 👊

A successful testing day for Mazda Youth Development Racing with lots of valuable seat time, data gathering and driver development throughout the day.

The team has worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, and it’s been great to see the progress being made by both the drivers and the cars. With every session we’ve continued to learn, improve and fine-tune things, and the cars are feeling stronger with every lap.

Testing days are where the foundations are built. It’s not always about chasing lap times – it’s about understanding the car, building confidence and making continuous improvements that will pay off when race weekend arrives.

A huge thank you to everyone involved today, including our drivers, mechanics, partners and the team at Paul Sheard Racing for their ongoing support and expertise.

One final job remains before we call it a day… a track walk. 🏎️🚶

Time to head out, review the circuit, discuss lines, braking points and look at where we can find those final tenths.

The work never stops, but neither does the progress. 💪🏁
