Night nav in preparation for Mountain Leader assessment.
Navigating in darkness or poor visibility is an essential skill and required to pass the Mountain Training mountain leader awards in summer and winter.
It’s also a good time to brush up on these skills as the nights get longer and we start to prepare for winter in the mountains. Our winter course dates are live and booking up and it’s not even autumn. Get in touch with any questions about navigation training, ML prep, winter and course dates.

Congratulations to all the candidates who did their Scottish Mountain Rescue Remote Rescue Medical Technician (RRMT) assessment today!
We were very pleased to find out we passed which allows us to give advanced medical care to casualties in a mountain rescue setting.
Huge thanks to all the faculty staff who put in long hours running the training and assessment weekends and our doctors and paramedics at Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team who ran training and helped us prepare within our own team.
Admittedly this is not directly linked to our roles within Cairngorm Adventure Guides but it is part of supporting the local mountain community.

A great weekend delivering rescue rigging training for Scottish Mountain Rescue.
These courses bring together volunteers from teams all over Scotland to learn and refine rigging techniques and try new ideas and equipment.
Regular training means safer and more efficient rigging on rescues when it’s needed.

A great effort from the team this weekend bagging the highest and second highest mountains in the UK while raising money for their chosen charities.
Despite some wet and windy weather!
Always good fun getting work colleagues out of their normal office environment, tackling a challenge while getting to know each other and having fun.
Cheers guys and well done!!

Working with Mountain Rescue teams is always interesting and good fun.
This weekend I was working on a rigging course with a group of volunteers from various teams across the country.
Thanks to everyone for great weekend of learning and rigging geekery 🪢 🤓
