Fantastic news for Kingussie. Enhancing the already cycle friendly feel with this crucial piece of infrastructure.
Well done all involved.
Kingussie Community Development Company
We are making cycling for everyday journeys easier ✅
Through our Cairngorms 2030 programme, we have awarded funding to six projects that help local communities shift up a gear and build the skills and confidence to get cycling.
Projects include developing the Grantown Bike Kitchen, expanding a community-led cycle hub at the Glenmore Visitor Centre, installing an e-bike charger in Kingussie and running cycle confidence and bike maintenance courses in Aviemore and Ballater. Plus, a National Park-wide programme to increase access to cycling for all.
Find out more about the fund recipients at the link in the comments ⬇️
Cairngorms 2030 is made possible through funding by The National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland, with thanks to National Lottery players.

Help please! We’re trying to source backpacks around 40 litres in size, to equip our volunteer bike bus leaders. Do you have an old bag sitting unused in the cupboard? Donated items are key to helping us keep doing what we do, and any bags that fit the bill would be very gratefully received 😁

Next week’s Joy Rides!
Monday is Boat of Garten, and on Tuesday we’ll be meeting in Kingussie 😁
Joy Rides are relaxed, social rides of between 1 and 2 hours, with plenty of time to chat and enjoy the view. All are welcome, and if you’re struggling to source a suitable bike we will help out wherever possible. They’re free to join, just come along and say hi! Or get in touch with questions 🙂

Tomorrow, Tuesday 4th, Aviemore!
Pedal Picnic 0930 - 1130 & Joy Ride 1230 - 1430.
Pedal picnic is a free, relaxed, parent-child social ride, aimed at P1 - P5 with trailers and sh***un seats welcome.
We dodged the rain (and the trees with the trailer!) in Grantown today, but leaders will pack a tarp for snack-time shelter for tomorrow just incase.
Today we rode a little, ate a lot of blaeberries, put up a hammock, and played with sticks.
Free sign up available under the 'Events' section of the SPIN website.
Joy Rides 🚴♀️
Also tomorrow, if you're 16+ and want to get out on your bike more, then Joy Rides are for you. Build confidence, meet other cyclists, and explore our local area.
No need to sign up, meet at 1230 at Aviemore Community and Leisure Centre with a bike, helmet and suitable clothing. If you need to borrow a bike or helmet, just get in touch.
