Another squad Birthday to celebrate.
This time it is Tommy Mansley.
Our regular left back until the 1st game last season when he sustained a serious knee injury meaning he was unable to play.
We all hope (as we miss him) he has fully recovered and we once again will see him pull on the black and white shirt.

OBW Penalty Competition News

Firstly, congratulations to the organisers of the 3 days.
What an effort.
Sadly on Saturday the weather did not play ball and was difficult for all stallholders and individuals running events on the field.
But we all got through it.
We were able to run the over 14's final and well done to the winner.
As for the under 14's and 10's despite trying to get the finalists to come over, they probably had drifted home by then to dry out.
So
Our whiteboard was another casualty of the rain (pen and paper next year) and some names have faded along with the scores.
The Over 10 but Under 14 list was able to be read and SAMUEL and ALFIE were tied.
If their football agents (parents I mean) could contact me I have a new size 4 ball for each of them.

The Under 10's record faired less well.
We know CRU tied for the lead but there was at least one more. If any agent remembers their client getting 5 out of 5 please get in touch as I have 2 x size 3 balls to
give away.

I think the kids loved it and was so sweet to see the kids even toddlers having a chance to beat our great club goalie Micky Thompson.

2026 World Cup Sweepstake

At this stage, I am floating the idea of running this sweepstake starting at the 32 team stage when it goes to knockout.
By this stage, more live chances of wining the competition will be left.
To make it worth running and winning I.propose an entry fee of £10 with 50% returned in prizes.
£100 for the winner
£50 for the runner up.
Entrants will be allocated their teams.by random selection.

I am open to suggestions regards the format etc but at this stage, just post here a yes message if you seriously want to take part.
Getting a 10/1 winner anytime is good and being in this will keep your interest up during the weeks to come.

At the Oakley Big Weekender today (Sat) we will be holding a Penalty Competition and a Hit the Bar Competition.
Starting at 12pm and they will be for all ages
Under 10 with a size 3 ball
Under 14 with a size 4 ball
Over 14 with a size 5 ball
Prizes for.each Competition plus sweets for every Under 14 who has a go

For both Under 10 and 14's it will be £1 for 5 attempts
Over 14's will.be £2 for 5 attempts

Come and try and beat our great goalkeeper Micky and progress through the afternoon to the final

Today we wish one of our squad a Happy Birthday.
It's Max Sargent our midfield tiger.
Max has had a good season despite injury restricting his appearances.
As I say a Tiger in midfield but judging by the last game of the season could play at the back as snuffed out danger time after time.
