This week serves as a warning, summer is just around the corner 😎

With this in mind we have added to our range of Rayban, Wolf and Elle sunglasses. We are pleased to bring you new ranges from Radley and O'Neill.

I was mildly disappointed the other week when the Wendover Road was reopened having been closed for two weeks. The new roundabout at Hamden had been partly constructed for many months or maybe a year or two and I had thought, "great, they are going to finish the job".

I imagine that my thoughts were matched by those of many others when the road was reopened but to the untrained eye little seemed to have changed. Granted, the other half of the roundabout did open a couple of weeks later but how do we manage to take so long to complete anything in this country!

Sometimes when we at Top Specs put new lenses into a customers frame we do a little bit more. It's not usually necessary but when it is we take the time and do our best to make our customers glasses look their best.

Our first pair of LED Pro (night driving lenses) are out on trial and we've had some good feedback. I've got some on order in my prescription too so look out for a full report once I've given them a proper trial.

If you saw Dirty Business on Channel 4 this week then you will know why this petition resonates with me. The way in which the water companies have behaved and how their practices have been overlooked by the regulating authorities is nothing short of criminal. It comes from the top, from our governments down and it's bloody disgusting. I'd best stop there before I get into trouble.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's difficult to make the world of optics (unless you are talking about drink) and glasses interesting and sexy. It's not like motorsport or cycling; I wonder why I see a lot of those subjects on social media 😁

So I'm going to mix it up a bit. You may learn a little more about me, my opinions, some of which you won't like and what I love to do when I've finished my day job; something which on the whole I still enjoy after 32 years, especially helping my customers.

Nikki and I were lucky enough to enjoy a week in Lanzarote earlier this month, hence the photo, though my year got off to a dubious start but more of that in a future post.
