Drowning Prevention Week: The Water Safety Code - it's simple yet it saves lives!
Whenever you are near water, Stop and Think!
Look out for potential dangers; read the signs and familiarise yourself with the beach flags. Make sure to check where the lifeguard is too.
Always swim with someone else. Not only is it more fun to swim with others, it's also safer!
If someone is in trouble in the water, DON'T go in to rescue them - it might be dangerous for you too! Call 999 instead.
Prepare yourself, learn how to flat on your back.

π’ Sharky Classes next Week β Don't Forget Your Pyjamas!
Just a little reminder for all our Sharky swimmers to bring along a pair of pyjamas or some loose-fitting clothes to their lesson next week.
As part of drowning prevention week, we'll be helping children learn what it feels like to be in the water while wearing clothes. It's a fun and engaging way for them to experience how clothing can affect movement in the water, while also building confidence and practising important water safety and self-rescue skills.
These lessons are always a favourite with the children and provide valuable life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
We can't wait to see our Sharkies in the pool! π¦π ππ©³
