🤠👢 *HELLO MY LOVELY DANCERS!* ❤️💃
I’m HOME and absolutely delighted to be getting back to classes this week! I’ve really missed you all and can’t wait to see everyone again! 🥰
While I’ve been away, I’ve been thinking about how we can improve our classes and help everyone become more confident with the dances we’ve learned.
We’ve covered SO many dances now, and I really want us to get to the stage where we hear a song, recognise it and confidently get onto the dance floor without having to follow me! 💃🎶
So I’ve decided to try something a little different!
⭐ *OUR NEW FOUR-WEEK CLASS FORMAT!*
Starting *Monday 2nd November*, we’ll be introducing a four-week learning format across *ALL class levels*, from Absolute Beginners through to Improver/Intermediate.
Each class will begin with 3–4 familiar warm-up dances, followed by a mixture of new dances and our regular core favourites.
👢 *WEEK 1 – LEARN & BUILD*
We’ll learn a new dance, revisit some of our familiar core dances and return to our new dance towards the end of class to reinforce what we’ve learned.
💃 *WEEK 2 – ADD & REPEAT*
We’ll introduce another new dance, but we won’t forget Week 1’s dance! We’ll go back over it and spend time practising until most of us feel comfortable with it, while continuing to enjoy our core dances.
🎶 *WEEK 3 – BUILDING CONFIDENCE*
We’ll learn our third new dance while continuing to revisit the dances from Weeks 1 and 2, helping us remember the steps and build confidence.
🔥 *WEEK 4 – LET’S NAIL THEM!*
No new dance this week! Instead, we’ll concentrate on really nailing all three dances we’ve learned, along with our familiar core dances.
⭐ *AND THEN WHAT HAPPENS?*
Once we've completed our first four-week block, we'll start all over again with three brand-new dances!
But here's the important part… *the three dances we've just spent four weeks learning will now become part of our regular CORE dances!* 💃
So while we're learning another three new dances over the next four weeks, we'll also continue revisiting and dancing the previous three, along with our other familiar favourites.
This way, we're constantly adding new dances to our collection without forgetting the ones we've already learned!
And as we progress through each block, hopefully more and more dances will become second nature. We'll recognise the music, remember how to start and be able to enjoy the whole dance with confidence!
*That's the goal — not just to learn more dances, but to really KNOW them!* 🙌❤️
⭐ *MONDAY EVENINGS – AN EXTRA 30 MINUTES!*
Also from *Monday 2nd November*, our Monday evening classes at Belmont Academy will be extended by 30 minutes!
👢 *6:30pm–8pm* – Absolute Beginners / Beginners
💃 *8pm–9pm* – Improver / Intermediate, including teaching new dances and reviewing familiar ones.
🔥 *9pm–9:30pm* – Extra Improver/Intermediate practice!
This final half hour will be purely for dances we’ve already learned. We’ll have a quick reminder of the four walls, then music on and away we go!
No lengthy teaching, just lots of dancing, repetition and building confidence!
❤️ *NOW I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!*
As we introduce this new format, I'd love to know which dances YOU would like to see included!
👇 *Please comment below with your suggestions:*
👢 *Warm-up dances* – Which familiar dances do you love starting class with?
💃 *Core dances* – Which favourites would you like us to keep practising regularly?
🎶 *New dances* – Are there any dances you've seen or heard that you'd love to learn?
🔁 *Dances to relearn* – Are there any we've covered before that you'd really like to go over again?
📚 *NEED A REMINDER OF THE DANCES WE'VE COVERED?*
I'll pop the link to our *Dancers' Library in the FIRST COMMENT BELOW*, so you can have a look through all the dances we've learned and remind yourself of their names!
You might even spot a few favourites you'd forgotten about! 😁
Don't be shy! Whether you're an Absolute Beginner, Beginner or Improver/Intermediate, I'd love to hear your ideas.
I'll add your suggestions to our list and do my best to include as many as possible in our classes! ❤️
❤️ *WE’RE ALL LEARNING TOGETHER!*
Rhythm ’n’ Boots started less than a year and a half ago, and look how far we’ve come!
As our classes grow, I’m learning and evolving alongside you. I know everyone enjoys different music, dances and teaching styles, and I’m always trying to find the best balance for everyone.
We’ll give this new format a go, see how it works and adapt as we go along!
🎄 *AND DON’T FORGET OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY!*
I’d LOVE for everyone to feel confident with lots of our favourite dances by our Christmas party on *Saturday 19th December*, ready to fill that dance floor!
And there are now only a few tickets left! 🎟️🎄
❤️ *A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO DAVID CANNELL!*
I also want to say a HUGE thank you to David for covering some of my classes while I’ve been away and keeping you all dancing!
I’ve loved seeing the photos and videos, hearing the wonderful feedback and seeing the fantastic turnouts!
I’m especially delighted that you’ve all made David feel so welcome. Thank you to everyone who went along and supported him. It really means a lot! ❤️
🥰 *FINALLY… I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL!*
After two weeks away, I’m SO excited to get back to our classes this week!
We’re back *TOMORROW MORNING, MONDAY 26TH OCTOBER, at 11am at St Nicholas Parish Church in Prestwick!*
I really hope to see lots of you back on the dance floor this week!
Here’s to more dancing, more confidence, plenty of laughter and lots more fun together!
See you very soon! 🤠👢❤️
