🏑🏑 Junior Tournament - Sun 4th Oct - U12s - On-x 🏑🏑

We had some of our juniors out again today at a very wet Linwood hosted by Kelburne.

We played 5 matches, with Ayr drawing 1 and unfortunately losing the other 4. Not a great morning for the kids, but the determination was there with lots for us to work on at training.

Teamwork and concentration was possibly lacking at points but a lot of hard work in defence showed against quality opposition.

0-2 v Wildcats 2
2-2 v Kelburne (Isla 2)
0-2 v Wildcats 1
0-4 v Uddingston 2
0-6 v Clydesdale

Well played Cohan, Harrison, Darcy, Olivia, Sophie, Calum and Isla.

Thanks also to all the drivers and supporters for braving the weather! 🏑💙🩷

🏑🏑 Junior Tournament - Sun 20th Sept - U12s - Auchenhowie 🏑🏑

We got our juniors season off to a great start last Sunday at the first event hosted by Western Wildcats.

We played 5 matches, with Ayr winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 2. Not a bad effort at all on a lovely sunny morning.

This squad was slightly different again with the move to a new season and congratulations to Isla on her debut for the club👏

Teamwork was good with lots of goals scored but also a lot of hard work in defence on a day with quality teams and play throughout.

3-1 v Giffnock (Ollie 2, Isla)
1-3 v Western 1 (Isla)
8-0 v Kelburne (Ollie 4, Cohan 2, Isla 2)
1-2 v Uddingston 2 (Isla)
1-1 v Western 2 (Cohan)

Well played Cohan, Harrison, Darcy, Olivia, Leila, Ollie and Isla.

Thanks also to all the drivers and supporters!

This Sunday we will be at Uddingston for an U14s tournament! 🏑💙🩷

✨ Match Report ✨

1st game of the season for men's team against Kelburn 3s with Iain Harrison and Robert Hendrie making their debut, young Murray McAleese stepping up to senior hockey and Scotty McElnea returning after his travels.

Ayr started well, dominating possession and creating a number of chances but lack of finishing touch meant 1st quarter ended goaless. Against the run of play Kelburne scored two quick goals in the second quarter leaving Ayr with an uphill task in the second half.

This was made even harder as Kelburne caught Ayr on the break to score again early in the third quarter. Ayr responded positively though as Karlos wrapped up the goal of the season competition as he beat 3 players and rifled a reverse stick rocket into the top corner.

However despite their best efforts Ayr could not score again so the game ended 3-1 to Kelburne. Disappointing not to get anything from the game but lots of positives to build on 😃

🏆 SUMMER 6’s CHAMPIONS 🏆

What a day. Great hockey, great people, and plenty of memorable moments along the way.

We’re incredibly proud to have been crowned winners of Kelburne’s first Summer 6’s Tournament after a day packed with competitive matches and brilliant team performances. Every player contributed, every game was a battle, and the squad showed exactly what Ayr Hockey is all about.

Huge thanks to for putting on such a fantastic event and to all the teams who travelled to take part. The atmosphere was outstanding from the first whistle to the last.

A trophy, plenty of laughs, and a brilliant day out with the team — we’ll definitely take that.
