💩 Dog Fouling – A Reminder for All Dog Walkers
Dog fouling is not just unpleasant — it’s illegal and a health risk to our community. Anyone walking a dog must pick up after it and dispose of the waste properly. It’s an offence to allow your dog to foul in a public place and not clean it up straight away.
If you’re seen not picking up dog waste, authorised officers can issue a Fixed Penalty Notice on the spot. The standard fine is £100, reduced to £75 if paid within 10 days. If the matter goes to court, fines of up to £1,000 are possible.
Always carry bags when you walk your dog and dispose of the waste in a proper bin — any public litter bin will do. Leaving dog mess behind not only harms the environment but also spoils our public spaces and puts others at risk.
Thank you to the many responsible dog owners who do the right thing.
