The 2021 Monsal Half Marathon and 10k.

We are extremely grateful to you all for being so patient and supportive throughout 2020 and into 2021 during what has been a trying time for the events industry. We have been encouraged by our running community’s understanding and kindness and support with our virtual events.

We have been trying our best to host the Monsal half marathon & 10k over these past extraordinary months. Last year’s race was unable to go ahead due to the first period of lockdown. We then tried to reschedule the event for November but sadly, we entered a second period of lockdown. We had high hopes as we entered into 2021, like so many, that life would settle back to some kind of normality. None of us could ever have imagined that we would find ourselves in this same position 12 months later.

We are in touch with the Peak District Authority and due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, they are now not accepting any event applications until after Easter, at the earliest. We are going to provisionally book the date of 6th & 7th November 2021.

As soon as we have confirmation of these dates, we will email everyone who has a deferred place, then the waiting list and then reopen entries.

Thank you for your continued patience. We look forward to seeing you on the start line, albeit later on in the end than we had planned.

The October Virtual Marathon starts today!

You don't need to necessarily be a marathon runner to participate!
The beauty of this virtual marathon event is that if you are not quite marathon ready, you can run/walk the distance over the 10 day window. You could break it down into two half marathons on each of the two weekends, with a few days rest in between or do 2.6 miles a day? The choice of challenge is yours!

Join us for the Virtual Himalaya 100 Mile Stage Race

The Himalaya 100 Mile Stage Race has been described as the most spectacular running course in the world! The race is organised by Himalayan Run & Trek, led by the infamous Race Director Mr Pandey. The race consists of five daily stages of 24 – 20 – 26 – 13 – 17 miles covered by either walking or running the distances. The route can be brutal in parts with significant hills the norm – particularly on Day 1, with the finish line at an altitude of almost 12,000 ft!

Nice Work are long time supporters and friends of the race, having travelled to India a number times with groups of runners to complete the event. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the 2020 trip due to corona virus. The loss of the race isn’t just felt by those who were due to take part. The event provides employment and opportunities for a significant number of people in the mountains – and schools and villages along the route will suffer an economic blow this year.

We have launched the Virtual Himalaya 100 Mile Stage race and 25% of race income will be donated to our friends in India via Himalayan Run & Trek.

The Tigers Virtual 10k officially kicks off tomorrow!

Support our veterans from the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. The race officially starts tomorrow, on the anniversary of when the regiment was founded. Entries open until 30th September.

Our August Bank Holiday Virtual Running Festival begins tomorrow.

A real incentive to get your running shoes on this weekend with a choice of distances from 20 miles through half marathon, 10k, 5k or 1 mile/k.

Complete your run any time over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, with the submissions window open from 9 am tomorrow (Saturday) and closing at midnight on Monday, you've got plenty of time to complete your chosen distance - and collect our amazing bespoke medal.

Entries will be available right through the weekend and will close at midnight on Monday.
