Seven new coaches took the first step on their Park + Pipe coaching pathway at Hillend this weekend! 🙌

Led by tutor Zoe Silk, the UKSS P+P Level 1 Foundation Coach training prepares candidates to work with freestyle participants from entry level through to U12 competitive performance trainees at UK ski centres.

Several trainees successfully accessed funding to support their participation in the course.

A brilliant weekend of learning and development, well done to all seven trainees and we look forward to seeing where it takes you next in your snowsports journey! 👏

🎿 Europa Cup GB Alpine Speed Team opportunity!

We're looking for a Support Assistant & Ski Technician to join the GB Alpine Speed Team for the 2026/27 season, travelling across Europe with a top-100 World-ranked racer through Downhill and Super-G, including selected World Cup events.

You'll be prepping skis, supporting training and racing, and living the reality of life on the professional circuit. Ski service and racing experience essential, ex-racers especially encouraged. No coaching qualification needed, just graft, reliability and a full driving licence.

Sign to save Ski Sunday 😊👇🏽

Sign our petition to save Ski Sunday!

Before social media and streaming, there was Ski Sunday. For many of us, it was our first glimpse of the mountains, the World Cup circuit and the thrill of snowsports.

This week, the BBC announced it would not be commissioning Ski Sunday after nearly 50 years on our screens.

At Snowsport England, we see every year how people progress from watching elite athletes to getting involved themselves, whether that's joining a club, taking part in competitions, learning new skills or becoming members of Snowsport England. Visibility matters. Inspiration matters.

As Chemmy Alcott, four-time Winter Olympian and former Ski Sunday presenter, says "the biggest worry is the next generation not seeing the mountains on TV, not hearing the stories, not believing that they can be part of our amazing community".

We’ll be there!

Under 1 week to go.......

The first of the SSSA events for 2026/2027 takes place next Tuesday at Hillend , closely followed by Glasgow Ski Centre on Wednesday.

Please note Loch Insh date has been postponed due to lack of numbers, NEW DATE TBC (likely to be end of November).

These events are suitable for all levels of skiers and boarders and there is plenty time for coached practice runs .

Get your entries in before Sunday evening for both Hillend and Glasgow. Aberdeen Entries will close on 12th September.

🏂SNOWSPORT SCOTLAND SBX TEAM! 🏂

Following on from an incredible Gold medal for Team GB at the last Winter Olympics, Snowsport Scotland is officially building our very first SBX (Boardercross) Team! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Who we’re looking for:
We are scouting for snowboarders aged 12-15 who love tearing up the mountain. Zero race or competition experience required. All you need is a love for snowboarding and a passion for going fast! ⚡️

The Training Programme:
🏔 Winter: We’ll be putting in the work right here on Scottish mountains throughout the winter, with an exclusive European training camp lined up for those who are ready.

🛹 Summer: We’ll be utilising artificial facilities and mixing in skateboarding and wakeboarding to build ultimate board control.
