East Antrim Harriers AC

Norman & Jim from East Antrim Harriers, met with Newtownabbey Racers and presented them with a cheque for £844:12p at a training session before 6 of their athletes travel to Dublin for the Special Olympics which take place on 18th -21st June 2026.

The money was raised at our annul duck race 🐥 which took place as part of the Ballyclare May fair.
The athletes have to fund their own way to take part, so hopefully this will go in some way in helping them achieve this.

We would just like to thank everyone who purchased a duck or donated and wish all of the athletes from Newtownabbey Racers the very best of luck representing Northern Ireland in the up coming games.

East Antrim Harriers annual duck race 🐥
Will take place this Saturday as part of the Ballyclare May Fair.

This year all of the money we raise on the day will be going towards supporting Newtownabbey Racers who have managed to secure 6 of their members being selected to represent Northern Ireland at the up coming Special Olympics taking place in Dublin from 18th to 21st June 2026.

We are delighted to be supporting these young people on what will be an incredible achievement and experience
Members of Newtownabbey Racers will be on the bridge selling ducks on the day so please stop and say hello 🤗

Ducks will be on sale on both sides of the bridge on Main Street and at the leisure Centre fair ground from approx 12 noon until 2:50pm with the race starting at 3pm from the bridge at the leisure Centre making their way down the river to the finish line at Centenary Way (Park Run Start).
We had to move the start of the race by half hour due to the Lord Mayors Parade being rescheduled from 2pm-3pm.

Ducks are £1 each with prizes for
1st 🥇 🐥 £50
2nd 🥈 🐥 £30
3rd 🥉 🐥 £20
& £5 for the last duck home 🐥🤗

Please give generously and 100% of the money raised will go towards funding their trip.

Marathon season is well and truly underway and the Harriers have been putting all their winter training to good use!
The club has been represented in Manchester, Boston, London and Belfast!
There have been plenty of PB’s, first marathons and teamwork with pacing! Well done to all!
