Banbridge Golf Club Captain, Mr Jim Matthews, welcomed his guests to a sun-soaked course on Wednesday 24 June 2026 as part of Captain’s Week ’26. With glorious weather throughout the day, members and visitors enjoyed excellent golfing conditions, great company and plenty of memorable moments both on and off the course. The atmosphere around the club was fantastic, with golfers making the most of the occasion and celebrating another successful day in what continues to be a special week in the club calendar.

A sincere thank you goes to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Special recognition must also go to Huntly Bistro for providing outstanding food and hospitality, which was enjoyed by all throughout the event. Captain Jim Matthews extends his appreciation to all participants, volunteers and staff for their support, helping to create a wonderful day of golf, friendship and community spirit at Banbridge Golf Club.

Captain’s Lady Prizes – A Wonderful Day on the Fairways

The sunshine was shining and the smiles were even brighter as our lady members took to the course for the Captain’s Lady Prizes during Mr Jim Matthews’ Captain’s Week 2026. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with plenty of excellent golf, friendly competition and lots of laughter shared throughout the day.

We hope everyone enjoyed the occasion and we look forward to seeing you all for the remaining events of Captain’s Week in support of Air Ambulance NI.

As we look forward to Captain’s Week 2026, Captain Jim Matthews would like to extend his sincere thanks to all the members, volunteers, staff, sponsors and committee members who have helped and supported him throughout his year as Captain. The annual DARREN WEIR TROPHY was recently contested at Banbridge Golf Club, attracting a strong field of competitors for one of the club’s most anticipated events of the season. Players enjoyed excellent course conditions and competitive golf throughout the day, with the event once again showcasing the friendly spirit and sporting excellence that continues to make Banbridge Golf Club a thriving hub for members and visitors alike.
