One of the things we hear most often is:
People often say these things as though they need to apologise.
But life isn't something that happens outside of yoga. Yoga was always meant to meet us in the middle of it.
The joyful seasons. The exhausting ones. The weeks when practice feels effortless, and the months when simply getting through the day is enough. None of it puts you further away.
Yoga isn't a race, and there isn't a perfect attendance record waiting at the end.
The practice isn't about never stepping away. It's about learning that you can always return.
Whether you've been away for two weeks, two years or twenty, you don't have to start from the beginning.
You simply begin from where you are today.
If today feels like the right day, we'd love to welcome you.
And if it doesn't, that's okay too.
We'll still be here when you're ready.

You're preparing to meet your baby.
But who is preparing you to meet yourself?
Pregnancy changes everything.
Your body. Your routines. Your relationships. Your hopes for the future.
And somewhere amongst the appointments, shopping lists and plans for birth, there's another quieter journey unfolding.
The journey into motherhood.
Our Pregnancy Yoga classes offer more than gentle movement.
They're a dedicated hour each week to breathe, to slow down, to connect with your changing body and growing baby, and to be alongside other women walking this remarkable path with you.
Together we'll explore movement, breathwork and relaxation to ease common pregnancy discomforts, prepare body and mind for birth, and create space for one of life's biggest transitions.
Whether you've practised yoga for years or are stepping onto the mat for the very first time, you'll be warmly welcomed.

"๐ช๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐?"
It's probably the question we're asked most often.
People are often surprised when we don't always answer, "The beginners' class."
We do sometimes run Foundations courses, and they're a wonderful way to begin. But the truth is that there isn't just one kind of beginner.
Someone who hasn't moved their body for years has different needs to someone who runs every day.
Someone looking to build strength may be looking for something very different from someone arriving exhausted and longing for a little more peace.
Yoga meets us where we are.
That's why we'd rather help you find the class that's right for ๐๐ผ๐, than simply point everyone towards the same starting point.
Swipe through for a guide to the different styles we offer. And if you're still unsure, send us a message.
We'd be delighted to help you find the place to begin.

The body moves.
The body rests.
Somewhere in between, we remember that we were never meant to live in effort alone.
Yoga is often thought of as movement, but some of its deepest gifts don't arise through effort alone. They reveal themselves in the quiet that follows, when we soften our grip, listen a little more deeply, and allow ourselves to receive. ๐๐น๐ผ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ is an invitation into both.
We'll begin with a gentle, mindful flow, accompanied by a carefully curated soundscape that supports the rhythm of the practice. As movement gradually melts into stillness, the music softens and we settle into restorative postures before resting in the gentle resonance of gong and chimes.
Sometimes the most profound part of the practice isn't the movement at all, but the moment we finally stop trying to hold everything together.
Perhaps this is your invitation to do a little less... and receive a little more.

One moment we're here. The next we're replaying a conversation, planning tomorrow, worrying about something that hasn't happened yet.
Some experiences are so deeply human that they hardly change.
Long before smartphones, email or social media, the Yoga Suฬtras described these restless movements of the mind as ๐ค๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ข-๐ท๐ณฬฃ๐ต๐ต๐ช.
It's remarkable how familiar that still feels today.
The Yoga Suฬtras don't simply describe the problem. They offer a path through it.
๐๐ฏ๐ต๐๐ฎฬ๐๐ฎ is the practice of returning.
Returning to the breath. Returning to the present moment. Returning again each time the mind wanders.
๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎฬ๐ด๐๐ฎ is the practice of loosening our grip.
Caring deeply, while learning not to be consumed by outcomes we cannot control.
Together, these two ideas sit at the heart of yoga. Not as abstract philosophy, but as something we can explore in practice, one breath and one moment at a time.
These teachings have endured because they continue to speak to something true about being human.

Many people come to yoga for the movement.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
But in the Dharma Yoga practice, the postures are just one thread of a much richer tapestry.
Alongside aฬsana, we practise mantra, praฬnฬฃaฬyaฬma and kriyaฬโancient techniques that work with the breath, the voice and the subtle body, inviting us into a deeper experience of yoga.
The physical practice is often the doorway.
What lies beyond it is often why people stay.
If you're curious about exploring yoga as a complete practice, we'd love to welcome you to one of our Dharma classes here in Banbury.

From our very first moment until our very last, it never leaves our side.
And yet, most of us rarely notice it.
We rush through the day. We hold our breath without realising. Our breathing becomes shallow when we're overwhelmed, hurried or afraid. The breath changes with every experience we have.
In yoga, we notice something else too.
When the mind is restless, the breath often becomes restless. And when we gently change the rhythm of the breath, we sometimes discover that the mind begins to follow.
This is the heart of
Not controlling the breath. Not forcing ourselves to feel calm. But meeting the breath with awareness until it becomes an anchor we can return to, again and again.
A bridge between body and mind.
A quiet way of gathering ourselves when life has scattered us.
In this carousel, we've shared three simple breathing practices that we return to again and again.
Not because they're complicated, but because the simplest practices are often the ones we carry with us for a lifetime.

Before you move on to the next thing, pause.
Take one slow breath.
Notice the inhale.
Notice the exhale.
Allow yourself to arrive, exactly where you are.

Long evenings. Days out. Children home from school. More plans. More people. More doing.
It's a beautiful season. But it can also feel like one long inhale. Always moving. Always giving. Always thinking about the next thing.
The breath teaches us something different.
We cannot keep inhaling forever. Eventually, the body asks us to exhale. To soften. To let go. To come down.
That rhythm isn't a luxury. It's how we find balance.
Our monthly ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ class is an opportunity to do just that.
For ninety minutes, you'll be supported by blankets, bolsters and breath as we gently guide the body from doing into being. There's nothing to achieve, nowhere to rush to and nothing to hold together.
Just space to exhale.
To let your nervous system settle.
To remember that rest isn't something we have to earn. It's part of the rhythm of being human.

Perhaps the most important thing to know is this:
๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ ๐ถ๐๐ป'๐ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐.
It's responding exactly as it was designed to.
Human beings didn't evolve to live with an inbox that never empties.
To switch constantly between conversations, notifications and responsibilities.
To be available all the time.
To carry so much information while finding so little space to process it.
Sometimes feeling overwhelmed isn't a sign that something is wrong with you. It's a sign that you've been carrying a great deal for a long time.
Yoga doesn't ask us to ignore that reality.
Instead, it offers simple, practical ways to gently communicate something our bodies long to hear:
๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฒ.
A slower breath.
A longer exhale.
A supported posture held with ease.
Little by little, the body begins to soften.
The mind becomes less scattered.
The nervous system remembers that it doesn't have to stay on high alert forever.
Perhaps that's why so many people leave class saying, "๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฅ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ด๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ ๐ธ๐ข๐ด ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ญ ๐ ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ต ๐ช๐ต ๐จ๐ฐ."

Movement is only the beginning.
For many of us, the body is the easiest place to begin.
It's tangible. We can feel it stretching, strengthening, breathing. But in yoga, we don't move simply to become more flexible or more fit.
We move to become present.
The physical practice is the first doorway. As the body softens, the breath deepens. As the breath steadies, the mind gradually quietens. Beneath all of that is something subtler stillโa quiet current of prฤแนa, awareness and presence.
This is why yoga is often described as a moving meditation.
Every transition becomes an invitation to listen. Every breath becomes a thread leading us a little closer to ourselves.
After a little time away to rest and be with Maya after her birth, I'm so happy to be returning to this class. It has been so beautifully and skilfully held by Becca over the past months, and I'm deeply grateful for the care she's brought to it.
Now I'm looking forward to sharing my own flavour of Flow again.
Expect creative, breath-led movement rooted in the tradition of yoga. A practice that begins with the body but doesn't stop there. One that gently guides us from the outer layers of our being towards the quieter, subtler experience of prฤแนa and the stillness that lies beneath.

I'd love you to join us.
Sometimes the way home isn't through doing more. Sometimes it's simply through moving, breathing, and returning to what has been there all along.
