Upton House Horse Trials

After a hugely wet winter the amazing team from Upton Estate have rolled the dressage and show jumping fields before it dries out too much. Nothing like getting the ground prep done early.

We are looking for a 14.2 and 15.2 for my 2 nephews as they have both outgrown their current ponies. They both need to be happy jumping round the farm with the odd days hunting and occasional lessons. Due to the type of hacking they do, all off road, they need to be happy with everyone cantering up fields and not bolt/rear/buck in that type of environment.

The 14.2 needs to be super kind and look after its jockey who wouldn’t give that many instructions.
The 15.2 can be more forward and up for it. They may do the odd competition but primarily it is for hacking and jumping round the farm.

We would like to thank all our amazing volunteers. Without them no event can run and we have had 3 very long days. Please remember however frustrating the collecting ring is be kind to the steward they are doing their best. They are volunteers and doing their job for the love of the sport and to give You a day of eventing.
We would love to invite those who were frustrated with the xc collecting ring to come and run it next year. Everyone wants to go early, everyone wants it to be run in a different way but no one offers to take on the job. It is very intimidating having 5 plus people on horses crowding over you being quite aggressive - because they just want to go xc and go home!
How many people will volunteer to run it next year?!!! Any offers would be gratefully received.

I hope these 2 made it home eventually, at least they had a good day even if the lorry wasn’t playing ball.
