The man calling the shots!

We’re delighted to have manager Mark Andrews back at the helm of Banbury United Women for the 2026/27 season.

You’ll probably hear him from the sidelines, calling the shots, making the decisions and, most importantly, bringing the best out of the players.

He knows what he wants from his team and isn’t afraid to demand the very best - while creating an environment where the players can grow, develop and enjoy their football.

With another season ahead, we’re excited to see what Mark and the team can achieve together.

SUNDAY, WE’RE BACK!

After all the pre-season hard work, we’re finally ready to get the new season started when we play away to Aylesbury United.

There’s always something special about that first game of the season. A fresh start, a clean slate and a whole new chapter for the team.

We know this is going to be a very exciting season. There’s lots happening behind the scenes and some exciting things coming up.

But for now - it’s time to play football. Let’s get this season started!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Banbury United Women and we look forward to celebrating our birthday with our supporters. Look out for events happening throughout the year.

It all started in 1996 when we debuted in the West Midlands Women’s League with the visit of Shrewsbury Town Ladies. A game which we won 4–3. Our goals that day came from Jenny Thorp, Claire Foster, Stacey Freeman (2). If anybody knows the whereabouts of any of those players or any of the players in the squad photo below, we’d love to hear from them. They were the pioneers of Women’s football in the town, and we thank them.

Natalie Brown, Board Director and Head of Women’s Football said, “Thirty years is a remarkable milestone, and it’s important that we celebrate the women who started this journey back in 1996. They were the pioneers who laid the foundations for women’s football in Banbury. We’re proud of that history, but we’re equally excited about the future and the next generation of women and girls who will carry this club forward. This anniversary is about honouring our past, celebrating our present and creating an even stronger future together.”

Since we began, we’ve had our highs and lows like any team but we always come back determined and stronger. The team are currently playing their football in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

Preseason is complete. We have a squad consisting of both returning and new players with a range of experience but all with the enthusiasm and determination to make this a successful season, and we have a manager who knows how to get the best out of his players.

We had an excellent result in our final warm up friendly which saw 18 of our squad get minutes on the pitch and are now looking forward to kicking off our new league season at Aylesbury United Ladies on Sunday.

Our first home game of the new season will be on Sunday 13th September 2026 at the TUGO Community Stadium. Help us make it a day to remember as our anniversary celebrations begin.

Lowelle is back!

We’re really pleased to have Lowelle Bryan returning to Banbury United Women for the 2026/27 season.

Lowelle’s contribution to this team is so important. She brings her own qualities to the pitch, but it’s also the energy, commitment and support she gives to the team that makes such a difference.

Every squad needs players who understand what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves - and Lowelle is one of those players.

We’re so happy to have you back Lowelle! ❤️

More than just a player.

We’re delighted that Ali Clarke is returning to Banbury United Women for the 2026/27 season.

Ali is one of those people who gives so much to the team - and not just when she’s wearing her boots. From helping behind the scenes to supporting her teammates, there’s always something she’s doing to make the team better.

That contribution matters. It’s the people who go the extra mile, often without any fuss, who help create the team we are becoming.

We’re so pleased to have you back Ali! ❤️

Sunday 6th September marks the start of a brand new season for Banbury United Women, and we honestly cannot wait.

New season. New challenges. New faces. Same passion. Same belief. Same team that’s ready to play brave.

Thank you Ruby!

It’s always tough saying goodbye, and today we’re saying a big thank you to Ruby, who is leaving Banbury United Women as she moves away.

Ruby has been such a lovely part of our team, and we’re so grateful for everything she’s brought to the squad — on and off the pitch. Her commitment, energy and personality will definitely be missed!

We’re sad to see you go Ruby, but we’re also so excited for this next chapter for you. Sometimes life takes you in different directions, and we’re just grateful that our paths crossed.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Michelle Matthews to Banbury United Women for the 2026/27 season.

Michelle is another fantastic addition to the squad, bringing strength, ability and plenty of presence to the team. She’s already shown us what she can bring, and we’re really excited to see her take that onto the pitch this season.

Another great signing as we continue to build something special.
