Cropredy Tennis Club - News and Updates 2021/22 Season Following the Government announcement on the phased relaxation of lockdown restrictions, the LTA have confirmed that tennis can resume on 29th March (full details and guidance can be found on the LTA website). Monday Club Nights resume on 5th April, and will run from 5pm to 7:30pm.

Following the Government announcement that the country will be going into lockdown on 5th January, the LTA have confirmed that all tennis facilities need to close with immediate effect (full details can be found on the LTA website - https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19---latest-advice/). As such, our courts will be locked until further notice.

The LTA have noted that as tennis is a naturally socially distanced sport and important for people’s physical and mental health, they will continue to liaise with the Government to ask them to allow players back on court as soon as possible.

The new government lockdown restrictions require the closure of the tennis courts from Thursday 5th November. The courts will be locked at dusk on Wednesday 4th November, and the ball machine is furloughed.

The LTA is arguing for singles tennis to be allowed for exercise as well as family play, so we hope that there may be an early return to some form of play being allowed. In the meantime, we hope you and your families will stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to tennis as soon as possible.

31/07/2020

Following the latest LTA advice, there are now even more opportunities to get involved with tennis at the club.

Both courts can be used for singles and doubles, but you must still use our Court Booking system every time you play.

Our Monday Club Nights are resuming on 3rd August, from 5-8pm - please email Simon if you intend to come. Our Ladies Club Nights are also continuing on Wednesdays, from 3:30-6pm - please email Di if you intend to come. A record of attendance will be maintained for all Club Nights for Track/Trace purposes.

Our Ball Machine is now available again. Members should email Simon to arrange training and to book for a day. A fee of Β£5, payable online, contributes to the cost of maintaining the machine.

Look forward to seeing you on court!
