Starting Again
It’s a humbling experience starting again from a point you’ve passed
For me I gained a lot of the weight i’d previously lost from allowing myself to be in toxic situations that didn’t serve me
And clearly it shows 🤣
Which is why I always preach about PUTTING YOURSELF FIRST
I know this is so much easier said than done but it’s got to be done so you can be happier
Within a couple months i’ve gone from the right, where i was uncomfortable in my skin and had pretty much hit rock bottom with my mental health again
On the left i’ve shaken off 4kg, i’m in a much, MUCH better place mentally, i’ve started a new hobby which i’m hope to continue on for a very long time because i’m doing things for ME
I cut out daily caffeine heavy drinks, I cut out binge eating on foods that gave me no nutrition and just helped fill a temporary hole, I started moving more and actually spent time outside instead of isolating myself
A lot of fitness coaches on here will spill some bu****it about being able to relate to you when it’s so fkin obvious they could never??
This is where I come in because when I say I do I mean it
My weight has fluctuated over the past few years massively, I’ve had to pick myself up from some of the lowest points of my life, I’ve been in a seriously unhealthy relationship, I’ve been homeless, I started on anti depressants, I lost who i was and as cheesy as it sounds, my purpose
The one consistency is that I have always picked myself back up and learnt to put me first again
This is my most vulnerable post yet but if this is the post you need to see that helps you get on track to the same place i’m heading then i’m so glad and i’m excited for you 💪🏻
Sometimes getting semi-nakey on the timeline is vulnerable in more ways than one 😂

Worried about losing your progress over summer? 😵
It’s summer, it’s warm, the sun is out, and all you want to do is go out and enjoy yourself ☀️
you’re not the only one 😅

DELOAD DURING TRAINING💪🏻⌛️
One thing a lot of people may struggle with is hitting a plataeu or experiencing extreme fatigue during training
One simple reason for this is that you’re possibly training too intensely for way to long AKA you might be pushing through the same training routine for 12 weeks straight without a deload - and if you are then no wonder you’re so tired or not seeing progress!
Taking a deload week and stepping back from intense training will benefit you massively as your body allows you to recover enough so that when you enter a new mesocycle (training phase) you’ll be replenished and ready to smash it out! 💪🏻

Today i completed something i’ve wanted to do for a while which was doing an actual “race” 🎉
To me it wasn’t a race and was simply a mindset of “just get it done”
But incredibly proud of my achievement regardless of how “slow” i was
this mindset is something i try to pass onto my clients
getting it done is an achievement in itself ✅
if i’d have gone in with the mentality of it being a race and wanting to get competitive about it i’d have probably ended up collapsing from heat exhaustion or just not being able to finish it
Now i get to head off home with a sense of accomplishment, the worst sunburn on my shoulders and a cheeky medal 🏅😅

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL 💭
Here is Jane’s testimonial. She was one of my first ever clients and i’ve never met anyone so dedicated to their fitness journey.
Within the few months Jane was with me she lost a total of 24lbs (!!!) and her blood pressure came back down to normal for the first time in two years
This was done through a steady calorie deficit, just 3 gym sessions a week and a step count which Jane would smash daily.

INCREASE YOUR NEAT
Increasing your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) is a sure fire way of being able to maximise your fat loss gains
Overall you expend the majority of your daily calories through NEAT and if your aim is fat loss then the more energy you expend through NEAT means the more calories burnt which means higher fat loss rate 🧬🔥
Setting a daily step count is useful for more than just keeping generally active 🏃🏼♀️

BODY IMAGE ISSUES
This one can be a hard pill to swallow for some people…
But it’s time to accept that your body now in your 20s/30s etc is not going to look the same as your teenage body
I used to punish myself constantly as a teenager for how i looked. thinking i was too big and i needed to be smaller but in hindsight i don’t see how i could’ve been any smaller 🤣
Battling raging body dysmorphia is something i’ve come to terms with the past few years.
Despite being constantly uncomfortable in my body I know a lot of it is a preconception of how i think should look based off societal standards and now I like to think i mainly strive to be healthy and strong in my body image
People used to compliment me on how thin I was when in reality I had an unhealthy lifestyle mixed with an anxiety induced eating disorder so it just goes to show the grass isn’t always greener 🤷🏼♀️
Be proud of who you’ve evolved into today because i’m sure younger you would be 😌

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOADING💪🏻
Progressive overloading is one of the key factors to making any type of progress in the gym.
Week on week we continue to make the exercises harder so that you can keep pushing forward and progress😮💨
One thing a lot of people do when it comes to progressive overload is make the mistake of continuously putting the weight up but compromising their form. Rather than pushing the weight you could change the tempo, add more reps, more sets, pause reps, the list continues.
If you’re stuck in a plateau in your training and find you can’t progress in your weights, try giving one of these other methods a go 😎
